Thanks for the info. The speedychronos link was the article I was referring to in my previous post!
My “new” watch is serial 17040435.
On 26th September 2016 Eddie said, "There are no more 2783, the next batch will have the 2824." A couple of replies below that he wrote, "500 have been made with the 2783."
Here Eddie says, "2017 was the year they had the 2824, before that they were all 2783."
The Latest News section on the Timefactors website still shows, "The Precista PRS-82 Royal Navy Diver is back in stock and available from 23 May 2017."
I now have #560 up in the Peak District. It is a bit smaller than I am used to, and I am slowly getting used to not having the date, but its a great watch!
Really appreciate you updating this thread as the PRS 82 is on my wish list, hopefully a mint early version has my name on it somewhere.
Perhaps a little conflicting, as my serial # would suggest it is number 435/500, but also suggest it was manufactured April 2017.
Though, just looking at the first link, there is a post dated late 2016 saying they got to serial 433, which is 8 digits after mine! Colour me slightly confused.
Also, Giants fan?
Cheers
I'll add further to the conusion. I have to get 300 cases manufactured at a time but we didn't have 300 movements, the watches bearing the 17 date were actually cased up over a 2 year period as movements became available. The serial numbers weren't cased up sequentially, it was random plus there are two batches of the 400-500 range, albeit with different date prefixes.
Eddie
Haha, I guess I’ll have to open it up and take a look!
Thanks Eddie,
Cheers.
Very interesting info, sure to perplex and delight PRS-82 enthusiasts for years to come. :smile-new:
Should some of these details be added to the first post in this "Precista PRS-82 Royal Navy Diver (re-edition) owners list" thread? Having two batches of serial numbers "in the 400-500 range, albeit with different date prefixes" might have minor implications for the numbering of the owners list?
I love my PRS-82. It's hard to find a more enjoyable watch, at least for me. I imagine in 20 years Eddie's re-edition will have a cult status comparable to the original 82.

571 has just arrived in Nottingham.
Thank you, Mr Platts. It is lovely!
Apologies if this has already been shared, but here is a fairly recent overview of the PRS-82 from CLOCKWORKTIME on YouTube:

I am not associated with the channel, but I am happy to see this video. The PRS-82 certainly deserves more attention.
Nice! thanks for sharing :smile-new:
Very cool. Thanks for posting.
I always liked the PRS-82 and loved the connection to the original through the use of the NOS movements.
I was lucky to get one which I reviewed here;
https://www.speedychronos.com/single...made-for-abuse
Then for some idiotic reason I sold it on...
Happy to report that I was lucky enough to get another. So 14050232 is now with me!

# 596 Enroute from the U.K. do have a A.F. 0210 strap from Australia incoming and a British marine strap from Silvermans coming also.
Would you mind posting a picture when your strap arrives please.
I'm very interested in hearing your views on the strap, they do look like a cracking strap.

I suspect that the PRS82 will be too heavy for an AF.0210 strap and be at risk of slipping off the strap every time you unfasten it from your wrist. I could be wrong but be careful.
I am also interested in seeing photos of the A.F.0210. strap.
I just noticed that the PRS-82 is listed as sold out on Timefactors. Are more on the way?

No, I’ll have to check the serial number, bought one from initial release, sold it, regretted but, bought another initial release.
Superb watch

I may have missed this here on TZ-UK, but from Facebook it sounds like the PRS-82 will eventually return with Sellita SW200 movements and stainless steel bracelets.

That’s good to hear… I had one of the originals but long gone now. I would love it with a cleaner lume colour this time around.
Good idea. I have an issued 1982 Precista & can confirm that the lume on one of these rare beasts is quite a bit paler than the TF PRS82. I’ll post an image later.
There you go....quite a bit lighter!

I've just seen these will be back in production next year. I'd love to get another, but I just can't get on with the faux aged lume. Anybody else agree? Would love to see some with the regular superluminova.
Just spotted joey_c00ls photos of the new one on instagram - looks very tasty!

Hope it’s ok to repost the image.
Looks pretty great.

It certainly does look fantastic, unfortunately I am not too keen on the bezel insert faux lume and would have much preferred either a toned down shade or just plain white.
Never the less, another Timefactors winner in the making...
Ahhhh the bezel insert colours are just wrong IMO. The original reissue was one of the best Timefactors watches I have owned, both in terms of looks and the amazing build quality. I am sure the latter will continue but the bezel insert on this version is totally off putting, it ruins the classic looks for me.
I rather like it (although I'm easily pleased!). I'll buy one if I can get one.
I have been holding out for this one as opposed to buying a pre owned last re-issue one that Time Factors did and is now sold out. This was mainly because I fancy one on a bracelet and it seems that this new one will come with one fitted.
I'm not keen on the aftermarket Bonklip (?) type or any other as they don't seem to fit the case profile in a pleasing way.
Do we have an estimated time when these might be released?
I agree, it looks both overdone and out of place if you know what I mean. Another batch of the classic with the new movement and bracelet would have been spot on. But what do I know? They’ll all sell out in under two minutes so another success for the gaffer
Yeah I think the bezel is what a millennial would expect. The bracelet is the selling point. And eventually I read on IG they will be available separately[emoji3531]
