Now that's ticking a lot of boxes
I have just been catching up on the new Basel announcements - Zenith have some pilots watches coming out. This one looks like it could be going on the wanted list - Chronograph, Date, Alarm, and world time complications - http://www.zenith-watches.com/pilot/
Now that's ticking a lot of boxes
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
Lovely :)
Very classy :drunken:
Dial is way too busy.
Might not be the best pic but all the hands look the same size; very confusing. Apart from that, I can see the attraction.
Any indications on price for this one?
It doesn't do it for me. That date looks like an after thought and I am not much of a fan of faces that have numbers chopped off. I'm sure it will find quite a few fans though.
the doublematic is a bit all over the place for me, this i like- really into big dates 8)
True but if it's waterproof enough for swimming, that could truly be the best high end holiday watch out there :-DOriginally Posted by McTeflon
As above... Any indications on price?

Edit: Having said that, there aren't many habitable places that use GMT-2 as their standard timezone.
Shouldn't laugh really but damn that was funny   :lol:Originally Posted by IANAN
As for the watch, sorry but it's not for me at all. Way too busy and lacks any elegance at all to my eyes at least.
Cheers,

That's a v busy dial
Double-matic OS spectacular. And way beyond my pay grade.
Trying too hard to be a jlc.
Nothing exciting, nothing new.
That omega in another thread is a breath of fresh air y comparison.
That doublematic dial is a train wreck

Hey, there's also a time-only version of the El Primero movement (i.e. just a high-beat 55hr power reserve watch without the chronograph?)
Looks nice I guess...
Out of interest time-only versions of the el Primero were used at the Chronometrie competitions in 2009 or 2010 I believe

Beat me to it. It's like a pimply teenager. I'm sure it's a good watch, but it's not cool. That non-chrono El Primero is cooler, of course. Remember the Cool Wall on Top Gear? (Do they still do that?) Can you imagine a beautiful woman asking you the time, you popping your cuff, to reveal all of that? What would she think? Is it cool?Originally Posted by LouS
Another case of a technically great watch that doesn't quite get the looks right. I think it's party Zenith showing off what they can do - that's a good set of complications there. They are rivaling JLC on what they can pack into a watch case at (what I presume will be) a semi-reasonable price. I'm sure it still won't be cheap though.
Oh blast !!! Curse my love for mechanical alarms - I think this is very nice. At 45mm at bit large though, but must say I like it never the less. Good thing is that the Zeniths don't hold their price so well, so maybe in a couple of years :D
A LOT of crowns, though
Stunning
When I win the lottery
This looks very crowded and is the size 47'ish or is a dwarf holding the watch?Originally Posted by xdonolix
from me - bottom left pusher looks like it's from another watch.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Nope, not for me. That dial is all over the place. :?
It looks a lot like a JLC Master Compressor series...What i dislike in general about Zenith Pilot watches is that it says PILOT on the dial, otherwise would have been great. Surely Pilots do not need to be reminded that they are wearing a PILOT watch...I wish theyed removed it...
Am I blind? I am sure the one pictured doesnt say pilot on the dial?Originally Posted by kaiserphoenix

Bit of too much going on on this watch...
I understand that the designers at Zenith have given this example of their work the title 'Le petit dejeuner de chien'.
That Pilot is quite lovely... :drunken:
and with all those functions...the Doublematic should be called Problematic once you find your world time mashing with your whatsacalled thingamagic.
I don't really understand all the comments about the busy dial - it's a mechanical watch with half a dozen complications. It's always going to be cluttered.
______
Jim.
Similar in my mind.
I think Zenith is doing a good job lately.....
The other two models posted look fantastic, really really nice.
The complicated one though is, well, complicated. I could easily picture it with Casio written on the dial and a tiny little digital display, a thought that really kills the thing stone dead for me.
Would have been better as either a world time chronograph OR an alarm chronograph but not really both

I like it, but reckon it'll be big :( Edit - and it is.
"Pilot" is a revival of an old Zenith line rather than anything seriously aimed at pilots. Watch branding is a bit  at the best of times. That website is a horror imo but most of them are.
Now that's gorgeous.!Originally Posted by spluurfg

Yeah. And in general I'm not a fan of more than 2 colours on a dial.Originally Posted by Vahalis
I really like the look of the big date but have to say the doublematic intrigues me, I have an el primero captain and its a great watch, will be interesting to see the prices on these, very high I would thinkOriginally Posted by rasputin10
