If checked in online, 25 mins will see you through even if busy. I do north terminal long haul twice a month and it's never longer than this.

Hi All,
Can anyone give me an idea of what the realistic processing times are: check-in/security etc on monday lunchtimes for a mid afternoon flight ?? at Gatwick southern terminal
Direct recent experience - would be appreciated.
Thanks

Couple of weeks ago the only real wait was at the gate itself. Security was very slick (lots of staff, good system working well) no queues. Check in had very short queue. Afraid wasn't bothering measure the time as I was very early. This was a lunchtime, Mon 12 Sep. Hope that's helpful.
Thanks Guys - Good info !
Much appreciated

Gatwick is pretty good. Never had any significant delays getting airside. Gatwick would be my preference even though I live much closer to Heathrow.
As above..
Through there relatively regularly... can be some long walks to gates though...
Should have a GTG there? I'm there week after next!

I've been flying through Gatwick quite a lot over the last 10 months (though typically not at your stated time) and I'd struggle to forecast what to expect. I've sailed through in 5 minutes on some occasions and on others, at the same time in the early evening, have had to wait 25 minutes to get through the electronic boarding pass scan before you even get to security. Obviously school half-term will also likely have a significant impact.
Thanks again !!!
