    RIP Robbie Robertson.

I’ve spent a significant portion of the last decade listening to The Band, and they still remain a favourite. One of the great songwriters imho.

    RIP

Great songwriter and guitar player. Imagine being on that Dylan 66 tour - wow! That Americana sound they came up with, so ahead of it’s time.

I do like this video of Robbie & Ringo with a mix of other amazing artists from around the world on Playing For Change - it’s stunning.
I remember this from lock down, when things were pretty depressing and hopeless but seeing Ringo being funny, on the drums and Robbie playing some wonderful licks, the smile he gives at the end all gave me a little bit of hope. Beautiful stuff.

Thanks for the guitar and tunes Robbie.

I save that for the 4th Thursday in November every year. Hope you played it loud!

Fantastic story. Out on the road at 16 and helped create a new sound out of an old format now called Americana. Plus the work with Dylan. Last Waltz is a great film that captures them at their best.

Sad to read of Robbie Robertson’s death.

The Last Waltz is by far and away my favourite concert film.

The Band were truly talented musicians, an inspiration for so many.

Very sad an IMO immense talent not just for his work with the Band ( just rewatched “ once we were brothers”) but his honouring his Mothers “ six nations “heritage.
RIP you made my life a lot better.

I first became aware of 'The Band' and Robbie Robertson while watching Easy Rider, sometime in the early 70's. Enjoyed their music ever since, even though it was a cover version of the 'The Weight' used in the film. RIP Robbie.

Somewhere down the crazy river remains one of my favourite tracks. It was tacked onto a Greenpeace CD I bought back in the day. Having said that I'm blissfully unaware of any of the back catalogue so maybe some catching up to do.
