Green Dial on a Rolex Datejust - when did they start?

Hi

I am after a Rolex Datejust 36. 162xx (white gold flued bezel, jubilee bracelet).

I would however love that watch with a green dial.

Am I right in saying that the 162xx was never released with a green dial? If not, what was the first reference with a green dial?

This 16234 has a green dial and given the no lume looks pretty period correct to me.

Edit. Reading on looks like the dial is taken from a 2 toned watch.

Released in 2022 if I recall correctly so worth seeking out the new model if want a green dial. I have the 41mm on Oyster and the Mint dial is beautiful.

You are correct. Rolex didn't make a green dial for this model throughout it's production from 1989-2005. Blues, whites, silvers and black were dominant and then a random pink dial with roman numerals!

Again no sadly. They increased the number of pink dial options for the 116234 reference watches, including the Floral (Teletubby) dials! Still no green option.

If you went steel & yellow gold 116233 you could have a dark green Teletubby dial!!
