Interesting read :-)
Complete load of twaddle — wished I'd not bothered reading it, even if only up to the "how much over retail is it worth" ballcocks!
Reads like a long distance circle jerk by phone — it's just a 'king watch with a ceramic bezel, ffs...not like the cure for every illness has been discovered.
I love it and want one with white dial :smug:
The white dial looks like an old Sekonda I used to have back in the 90's
The new white dial is the best looking Rolex I have ever seen and I want one!!!!
Black dial for me.
I expect I'll look for one when;
a) the rush dies down
b) I have some money
c) Wayne get's bored of his.
Worthless photos.
A lot of furious wrist action all round.

Just seen this thread on TRF.

Could it be the first UK Ceramic Daytona?
Only time will tell ;)
As always, the best way to get one of the new Rolex Daytonas is to call your local authorized dealer and put your name on the list, just like we did.
Sure it is, lads, and sure you did...
Pathetic.
Big fan of Hodinkee, but how much crap can you talk about what amounts to a new shiny Bezel?
Actually, this is the Daytona to have ..

Is it wrong to prefer the steel bezel watches?
The only thing good about that review is the pictures.
Hoping to sort my full review out tomorrow, but here's my unboxing and VLOG until then... that was a tiring day!!! :icon_biggrin:

They came across as enthusiasts, even dismissing being offered twice what they had paid after a couple of days. Interesting article to read as an outsider. I always loved the vintage Daytonas with the black bezel like the big red and the Paul Newman variants, so I was pleased to see it come back.
I prefer the White dial version over the black.
The ultra high demand situation with these reminds me of when the Telly Tubby toys were in high demand across the UK. On a tiny scale in comparison but it has a whiff of that scenario.
It's no bad thing to have a bit of child like excitement every once in a while and the watch is clearly stunning.

Nice review, thanks for sharing.
Wish I can buy one , one day!

Excellent...enjoyed that, and liked the road trip bits up front too. I've done the same myself and you do question your own sanity of a 10 hour trip for a watch (but not at all when its the new Daytona!)
Thanks for sharing the initial video Wayne, although I'm afraid my middle aged conditioning kicked in when observing that you must have been using your mobile phone whilst driving. Tut tut dude
Great stuff Wayne, looking forward to the full review.
Excellent stuff Wayne - you clearly aren't suffering from the Hodinkee aloofness!
i also had my health and safety cap on seeing you use your phone in the car
Thanks Waynne - great to start to see these starting to get out there, and to see real (rather than Basel World / Rolex) images of the watch in the wild and under more natural lighting conditions. Looking forward to the full review .... Not sure if all this makes the wait easier or more difficult mind!!!!
Thanks for sharing W44NNE .... BIG CONGRATS :)
Great job,Wayne.
Look forward to your full review.
You are a true watch enthusiast.
I refuse to drive more than 15-20 min for a watch!
It's nice but then so is the previous model but I don't get all the fuss and hype. But then again, I'm not the target audience. If you can afford it, enjoy it :eagerness:
Looks a pretty cool watch to me....esp with white face
Sorry, didn't see all the replies. I've finally finished my review so just uploading it now. I'll create (my own!!! :icon_biggrin:) separate thread and upload the pics and link etc shortly hopefully.
I'm still waiting for Eddie's Smiths Chronograph.
:eagerness:
The hodinkee article has triggered a huge debate at the Rolex forum.
IMHO they have completely lost it. Used to enjoy reading hodinkee now I just try to steer clear from them. Thy just feel like commercial tools being used by big auction houses and well known brands. Nothing less, nothing more...

I'll probably own one at some point to try it out. But the new Overseas is the watch I'm lusting for, when are they out?
Ha ha! I felt rather soiled after reading that. Like stumbling into a room to find two blokes enthusiastically playing an horological game of soggy biscuit.
Oooh, how special we are! Like hundreds of others, we've got a new Rolex! Can we post it on the internet fast enough?! Can we call our friends to check if they are as special?! Or just jealous! They've changed the bezel! It's like a newborn baby! It's mine! My possessions elevate me!
Worthless prose and lifestyle, even by the increasingly onanistic standards of watch fora.
Casio is the coolest watch brand, precisely because of this.

Um, wearing an Omega today, but the crystal is stain-free.
