Best presented watch?

After seeing endless ads and page shares on Facebook for Torgoen (still tempting me)

One of their pics shows it in a huge case, with an extra strap and tools. It looks really nice to be honest.

It got me thinking, whats the bets presented watch you can get? I'm talking box and any extras that make opening it a bit of an occasion.

Reading the thread about the service nightmare where the watch came back in a plain box with no paperwork etc. made me think about this!

Not the same price range, but the Omega Speedmasters come nicely presented. And the Longines Legend Diver comes in the world's biggest watch box.

Some of Eddie's come in Peli cases, don't they? Or used to.

Well in that case the new Speedmaster professional presentation box might be considered. I know it's on another price bracket but it comes with strap exchanging tools, an omega nato, an omega reproduction of the NASA issued strap, an omega loupe and a medallion with the omega sea horse. Quite impressive if you ask me.

Speedy looks great. Price isn't a factor in this, in fact, id expect the higher priced watches would have that little bit extra sometimes

I reckon of the $680 asked for that Torgoen the price breakdown is like this:


Retailer profit: 340
wholesaler profit: 165
packaging, marketing etc 90
watch 85

bargain innit.

Always thought the brief case on the old breitling emergency took some beating

The packaging is a work of art and can also be customised.......... the watch isn't half bad as well.:devilish:

The Aviator Chronograph I have comes in a case with rubber strap, bracelet, spare links, strap changing tool, few manuals, all nicely packaged in a presentation box.

Plus it came with a pair of aviator goggles and aviator hat with fur lined floppy ears :)

I think that some of the huge boxes that watches come in are crazy!

The Pelicase's that some of Eddy's that I have bought came in were absolutely tip top

I quite like the Zeno branded travel case my ZEX came in too

Small is best for me

I like a nice simple watch box, strong enough to protect the watch in shipping and no more, Seiko and Citizen seem to have the idea and Eddie's carry case with the Everest is about as extravagant is it needs to get (That is quite useful, although I'm not sure where mine is!)

If I want a wooden box/Pelicase/mini-suitcase, I'll got buy one of those.

Watch boxes just get in the way anyway - Where I've bought watches in boxes, I've kept them, but I'm not sure where or even which watch goes with which box!

I've got around 8 lovely watch boxes all beautifully presented and stored in the loft! The Omega presentation in this thread is amazing but ultimately a waste of time for me ...

That one actually seems useful, as well as not being a space hog.

In general, I've found that the bigger and fancier the box, the more meaningless and forgettable the watch.

I have the new speedmaster with the new box, and it is a nice package that helps justify the cost.

I agree the GGB watch packaging looks pretty impressive too.

The very latest brown Breitling boxes are better than the black predecessors, but still not as nice for me as the Bakelite versions of old.

I got a Bremont recently (put the rotten tomatoes down) and the outer box, fabric bag and leather folding pouch are also quite nice, a bit different to the usual hard boxes with sliding draws etc.

Imagine having to service both the watch AND the packaging! Nightmare.

Looking forward to my speedmaster purchase, box is a nice extra but would be happy if it came in a sock

Lld has also a very nice presentation box!
Some Glasshute also have nice rosewood boxes and lupes.

i agree with others on this thread .. the box is lovely .. but its the watch the matters the box spends the rest of its life in the attic as is proved by the amount of pre-owned and vintage watches without boxes

+1 for the old Breitling Emergency briefcase.

My 2001 Titanium Emergency still has the case, with the screwdriver, testing station, and an old VHS tape.

Even 15 years on it still all looks very "James Bond", and functional!

Watch has just come back from a service from BUK,and came back looking, literally brand new, with a cleaning cloth, travel case, and new service card.

BUK turned it round for me in less than 3 weeks,which was, in my view, exceptional service.

Just had a look at Jocke's Dornbluth pics, good grief that watch is nice, highlighted by some truly stunning photos. So excited that mine is due sometime this month
