The Spyderco forum is a great one. Can get pretty expensive!

Ah crap. A whole world of stuff I didn’t know existed that I now want. Thanks
Have you tried a good quality bolt action pen? Lovely to fidget with and semi useful too though the Bastion I have is too heavy to write a novel with
I have this on my desk. I have no idea why but it seems to focus my attention when I’m wavering.

The mag cap on the Mark Newson designed Montblanc pens are surprisingly good for fidgeting.
Blimey had no idea how sharp good knives are, anyway it's very tactile good tip

I hate this place and thread. Who can I claim back on ??
A few things on a list, just trying to work out which. Haptic coins were a new one for me, but I can’t use them on the sofa without my wife screaming at me due to the noise!
Feeling a high end spinner being ordered over the weekend. I’d stopped using them & now addicted once again.
Yes they have some lovely spinners for sure.
I keep coming back to this one

I have a tiny one of theirs and love it.
Tiny one I’ve seen on Ali that’s about the size of a thumbnail. Seems almost too small.
Yeah not that small
This is brilliant

I've got a couple from Vorso (https://www.vorsospin.com/), a Flat Top and a Mk1 (best spin time is over 13 mins! :lemo:)
Rich.
13 mins !
Tbh I can imagine the bigger tungsten ones are the ones that do that
My little steel one at 5 mins when it's the size of a 50p piece is pretty good

Haha damn. Just about to order a KAP and then you throw this in the mix. Plus British made.
The flat top was one of ordered years ago from Phone Case Wiz who just sent out a generic 3 arm spinner and ignored contact & had to section 75 it. The fact it was half of RRP was not warning enough.
Flexing towards the Vorso now.
Do the people who have posted the benefits of these have ADHD (diagnosed or otherwise)?
I doodle when my mind wanders in meetings.
No formal medical assessments, but believe from my personal traits, online tests etc that I’m somewhere on the spectrum, but probably only slightly.
I used to doodle but had it beaten out of me over the years for looking unprofessional. Pre-Covid I always had a small fidget item with me that I could use under a desk as it was silent.
Working from home has been easier with a greater size and variety being used off camera when I needed. My desk has 5 within reach.
I’d found I was using them less until I started reading this thread and am now back using them again. Hadn’t realised how relaxing I found them, I actually WATCH tv in an evening vs having it on in the background, so that’s concentration sorted.
No diagnosis no, but keeping my hands occupied helps me a lot. Maybe that has a name , but won't call it ADHD, as like Tourettes and OCD the terms are rather abused and belittled yet serious conditions in their own right.
I pace when I'm on the phone and generally need to be occupied when watching Tele etc

Cheers buddy.
Can also sort a fidget loan out too, could save a fortune in trying new ones!
My two main ones - left is the Mec Army, right is a Ti one - Z branding on it, but cannot recall for the life of me the brand.

Yes please if you are happy to - was looking at the shape of that and couldn't work out if it would work for me.
Love the cat tunnel in the background, mine never used his & just stared at it.
We have 2 beds and rotate them from being in use vs in the eaves - when we swap them over after 2 weeks, he acts like it is a completely new bed / toy & has done for the last 5 years....special lol.
Will pm you my address & will cover all the costs, thanks.
I tried a couple cheapie spinners but they didn't feel particularly enjoyable or relaxing, if anything I found them distracting, as I felt the need to keep them spinning at top speed. This required some effort, as they weren't super spiny, such as the expensive ones listed above. I baulked at paying more, since I have other items to fidget with. These include several Benchmade pocket knives, which with a well worn in pivot and oiled axis lock are supremely fidgety. My Bugout is tuned to perfection. :)
Then there are pens. An AG7 Fisher Pen with its side click, was a favourite for years, until I picked up a TiScribe Bolt and its latest version, the Smooth Bolt. Activating the bolts is highly addictive and very annoying for others in meetings.

But I have found that a simple worry stone is, for me, the most relaxing and calming item to fiddle or fidget with. These are made from Micarta (layers of fabric soaked in resin, then baked and compressed) from vintage pieces made by Westinghouse the US electrical corporation, who made all manner of items from the stuff.

These are made by a Dutch guy on Etsy and while he makes some highly complex designs, with inlays, pins and different materials, I prefer the simple patterns of the raw linen micarta. They are incredibly smooth, highly polished and ever so tactile. And relaaaaaaax.

I don't find that one very enjoyable to mess about with. The price I've seen on Amazon must be for one made out of different materials, as the plastic ones are £15ish. The biro nib on mine isn't held out very strongly at all so it retracts under certain writing patterns so it's definitely more of something you fiddle with that just so happens to write, than something you write with that you can also fiddle with!
