Picked this up today. Merry Christmas me [emoji23] Bremont MB Savanna from Watts in Derby who are sadly closing down, so selling off all their stock. I've been after an MBII for some time now, and this version hadn't really been my first choice due to its price, but with a nice reduction (and another strap included into the bargain) I was happy to get it.
They also had a Hawking and. Hercules left if anyone fancied either of them, you'd have to ring for prices (the Hawkings was around 5k iirc). Oh and a couple of Montblanc Timewalker Chronos. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9df838ff17.jpg

It's actually the 37mm ref 15450ST. Did a swapsie with a friend plus cash his way. He got the ref 26331 earlier this year but says he just didn't bond with it and wanted a non chrono. Met up with him for our annual just before Xmas jolly last week and struck up the deal. Not sure if he got the better deal or I did but hey ho we've been mates for over 30 years so a few ££s more or less is irrelevant.
This qualifies as a new incoming after I bought it from a member in June and fumbled around for six months getting the dial changed from black to the classic silver with raised numerals. I sold my 99.4 for this and it will be with me for life :)

A little Santa gift to myself. Can't beat a G

I've shown some self restraint (if that's the right definition?) and no expensive watch purchase for Xmas. So I went for a cheap and cheerful Timex Q GMT, which is a great little kit except its bracelet. Case, dial, hands are all rather good for the price point but the cheapish looking bracelet wasn't fitting into the whole picture.
Therefore I went for an aftermarket Jubilee.
After some filing (on both the end-links and clasp side) I reached a handsome integration and even the OEM clasp found it's place back.
I have to say I'm quite happy with the outcome.
Even though it has the vintage GMT Master vibes it's not a straight homage due to the 80s Timex link. It's delivering the feeling in a more funny way, like a caricature I would say.

That Timex really suits the jubilee
I think so too, but Timex decided to go with their own design which is not bad but the polished details looking cheapish somehow.Sent from my XQ-BQ52 using TZ-UK mobile app
Christmas, and I never thought a Tintin would land under the tree...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ca157bd43b.jpg

Fantastic. My youngest created these home-made tags for my gifts (don't tell Moulinsart).

He even set the correct time and date :unconscious:
Caribbean blue, impossible to photograph and the bakelite bezel is out of this world :tears_of_joy:

Picked this up from Vincent on SC just before Christmas.
Could well be my exit watch and sell the rest.

This arrived yesterday, and so far, very impressed with it! The dial looks black in most lights, but is a very nice dark navy blue.

This one arrived today, Ming 17.09. First foray in to micro/independent for me.
Too many watch YouTube videos over Christmas means I've succumbed to buying my first San Martin. Their 39mm Ranger "homage", a tool watch with a simple dial. First impressions are not bad tbh. Nice presentation box with a few tools in there too. Quite pleased with it for the money. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...06ede7b43d.jpg
Seems to shine nicely https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c693abb9c1.jpg
What a cracker (and that’s my Christmas pun supply exhausted), I’ve not seen that version before, what a great looking watch: nice catch.

I didn’t even realise there was a Swatch shop in Glasgow so popped my head in on Christmas Eve and left with Mission to Pluto, probably around half of the collection available to purchase and for £200 you can’t really argue with that

Arrived today and the first task was to remove the cyclops, looks much better IMHO

Looks great without the cyclops. No idea why Seiko do it to themselves/us.
My Bel Canto has arrived.

That is very nice. I dithered on the blue and missed out so have the black en route at some point in H2 this year.
What are your initial impressions re weight and perception of quality? When I unboxed my MAD1 it didn't feel worth the money or hype at all. Really hoping the Bel Canto is the opposite.
Once I have had it a while I will put down a few thoughts.
In the meantime a link to a review that someone I know on the CW forum put together, after he had his for a few weeks. Whilst he likes his CWs he does own a few other brands and doesn’t come into the out and out fanboy category.

The weight on the bracelet adjusted to my about 6.8” wrist is 103g. Put in context something like a 16570 is 120g.
It was light, but for me not too light. Weight wise I could certainly tell that I wasn’t wearing something like a SubC.
I am happy with the feel and quality. Had a look using a (modest magnification) loupe and it does look to be well finished.
Certainly no regrets about ordering it.
