The Orient combination looks amazing! Mind sharing where the strap is from?

@DimGR that Ultra-Chron is a beauty! I have the same model in stainless steel. Currently at a watchmaker for service (still waiting for parts ...)
New one for my Ranger - great fit.

+1.........most are bad, some are very bad, but the owners clearly think otherwise.
Vintage/distressed/ aged?........they just look scruffy to me. I don’t put watches on bits of cloth either, tgat never looks right.
I guess my tastes are conventional; smart black, brown or bark blue leather straps with some padding, depending on the style and thickness of the watch. Contrasting stitching often looks OK when new but doesn’t age well IMO, white stitching ends up looking mucky grey and that’s not a good look.
Brown straps and black dials is another combination I avoid, only in rare cases does it work.
Most watches look better on their original bracelet, particularly Rolex models.
Each to his own.........

I you are wandering round the Far East Plaza in Singapore ( and you should if a watch lover ).On the top floor is a little shop called Jason and Sharron they make straps and have a wide selection ,I bought two and they seem to me to be of equal quality to the Panerai strap they are joining. They also sell on line .I have no connection. The Plaza has 8/12 shops selling up market used watches .

I should add Jason punched holes in the straps to fit my wrist size and they are the first straps I’ve ever had that are a perfect fit ....it makes a difference ...
He also showed me how to change straps on a Panerai using tooth picks
to avoid possible scratches.

For some reason, I'm liking this, even though it's a blatant dress watch on a NATO that's too big.

How about this, fancied something different for my Radiomir so went for a burgundy strap. Goes nicely with the black dial I think

Yes I know this is terrible but at least it (kind of) matches the dial

This arrived last week, and like most Vostok Amphibian watches the strap was horrible. Thought it would look good on this, and I believe I am right :smug:

This one was purely by chance - the strap arrived with another watch but suits the Day-Date rather well.

IMHO many combinations are nice, but few are perfect (isn't that like everything in life?)
Maybe this thread would make sense to be renamed as "Show your watch and strap combinations!" instead?
For me this is perfect https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...221fd7fb56.jpg

Not often the OEM gets it right, but I reckon Piers nailed it when he included this one for me.

I think that the saddle brown colour is warm and compliments the gilt dial whilst the burgundy stitching is subtle enough to work. Oak bark tanned leather and waxed linen thread.
I'm pleased with the result.
Once you black you dont go back!

Could I ask what model of Vostok this is? It's the first one that I've really liked.
Also those are some really good photos.
Thank you
Thanks for the kind words. It's reference 420419B, a Meranom special edition and sadly now an archived item. https://meranom.com/en/amphibian-se/...e-420419b.html
It's one of the few Amphibia that I've resisted the temptation to modify as I like it as it is.
May as well post this; my recent GS (SBGX009) on a dark brown Horween Shell Cordovan strap. Think it works well.

Just bought this JPM strap from Watch Obsession for my Ranger. A bit more than I'd normally pay for a strap, but so soft.

Mixed reactions to this Railmaster - croc combination, but I like it:

Thanks mate! Now off to do a bit of internet searching! :)
Funnily enough Pavel is currently making me one like this:

to go on my 176.007:

And my Exp II. Seemingly breaking most of Paul's rules above, but I think it looks great on this 'scruffy' strap :-))) Had a nice comment from Rolex St James about it last time I was there.

That looks good .How difficult is it to change the strap on a Radiomir
The screws on mine are tiny and look delicate.

Hi, changing a strap on a Radiomir is a little fiddly the first time you do it (a 5 min job) but easy thereafter. Make sure you have a 1.2mm screwdriver (luminors use a 1.4mm I think) and you'll be sorted. I'd also recommend using sellotape over the screw and surrounding area just in case you end up with unwanted strap changing marks in the event of a slippage. Changing the straps is part of the appeal of Panerai for me
David ..
Thanks I’ll give it a try .The dealer gave me a spare strap when I bought mine so I just need the screwdriver.
