Looks superb!
And fantastic Lume too!
Thanks Karl, think I’ll have to go order one of these now!

I might have drastically culled the collection over the last 6-7 years, but I still have a couple of Tuna

Tnx [emoji106]. Yes, I also think it is a great combo. Desert sand (german ww2 canvas) color in fact goes with anything I have tried it. Amazing.
Got it from diaboliqstraps (instagram and facebook) and the quality is top notch

It's a Dial Maker carbon and lume mix dial. I've never bought any of his products but you can Google him.
I think the Proxima Tuna comes with a lumed date wheel? I'm unsure but if not, you can Google it for more information as I bought the watch as it is now. Google really is your best friend.
Thanks for your comments.
Starting to play around with the strap options for my new-to-me SBBN025. Oddly, it’s quite a versatile watch. The shoulderless springbars are a bit of a fiddle, but it’s hard to see how you could possibly drill the lugs!
Three combinations strike me as particularly pleasing. First is more-or-less a standard for any tool watch in my collection: the Erika’s MN. I’ve got a black-and-white one which I think looks quite nice on the Tuna. It’s very comfy and doesn’t lift the watch head off the wrist too far (which is definitely a problem with a three-ring NATO). Because the watch isn’t too heavy it feels well balanced, too.

Next up is a grey canvas RIOS strap that wouldn’t fit in the lug gap of my Bremont world timer. I dug out a black PVD buckle, just because. The strap needs wearing in, but I think it works well with the Tuna and is sufficiently rugged-looking to work with the aesthetic.

When all’s said and done though, it’s hard to beat the original soft silicone rubber strap. It’s stretchy, flexible, flares into the case nicely and generally complements the watch beautifully. I suspect it will be on this, or possibly the dark green one from my Arnie, for most of the time - and largely on the MN otherwise.

I’ve fallen for this beast in a big way; something about the extreme functionalism of it really appeals to me. I’ve a sneaking suspicion it won’t be the last full-size Tuna I acquire.
Seiko Tuna Solar diver.
It wears and feels much smaller than its 47mm size due to the black shroud and lightness of the solar motor.
Nice thing though.

Are these a tuna?
I think so, even if not they are a very under rated watch

Looking good. A nice bit of patina going on too.
I have one of mine on today.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...de526ef147.jpg
Nice watch but not a tuna in the true sense of the model. Only 200m water resistance for a start, good but not tuna standard. Adding a shroud to a diver does not a tuna make. Personally even the recently released solar tunas aren't tunas, tuna style yes, but not a true tuna.
Yes. Shroud and 7C46 or 8L35 [emoji12][emoji118]

Anyway this definitely counts

The 1000 metre Tunas really are spectacular watches - titanium, ceramic and a great movement combined to make a supreme tool watch. The fact they’ve been depth tested and failed at something like 3000 metres just shows how over engineered they are!
I always found a Seiko rubber was the best strap, I think partly because they flare out to c. 24mm at the lugs. I found a 22mm strap can look a bit weedy against the width of the case. But all those straps in your photos look fantastic! Tempted to try some new straps on mine...
Don't care. Love it. :)
Doesn't feel much different to a 300m version tbh, not sure I'd want it any bigger though

Gratuitous SBBN025 pic, partly to show off the lovely crisp new shroud screws (see “Mods and Wreckers” for that saga) but mainly because I checked it on WatchTracker today.
It has lost 0.4 seconds. In 56 days. Which implies an annual rate of about -3 seconds per YEAR. Time will tell of course, but for a non-thermocompensated workhorse movement I think that is mightily impressive.

My first, but not its first appearance in this thread.
I'm really smitten with some of these. Can I ask [1] whether there's any particular model which better suits the smaller, i.e. 7" wrist, and - since I'm feeling some inevitability about the outcome of perusing this thread - [2] which are the best online UK outlets? ...
When tuna and alpinist have sex you get a fieldmaster tuna. Purist will say it is not a true tuna but finally I managed to get a 6R15 inside a shroud [emoji6] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2914bab893.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2f714f59cb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...72e69ed3bd.jpg
