Loving that combo. I’ve looked at website and now may look to pick up one for my Pam560

Wrong – all of it. Sorry. Possibly a somewhat provocative and self-confident comment, so sorry for that as well.
Plenty of beautiful looking straps, exotic leathers, marvellous fabrication and aesthetics, but all missing the key ingredient in making anything work properly and last a lifetime – engineering.
Here's a question - how long did your previous strap last before you bought a new one, and why did you buy a non-oem replacement?

Custom arrived today - love it. Perfect for summer https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e1c15d5a0.heic
I think this works quite well....

Having just acquired a brand new hand-built Offshore Professional Field Engineer, I have elected to have it on a non-OEM Hirsch Leonardo Principal curved end alligator grain strap in a rather luscious shade of brown that Hirsch describe as 'auburn' but I would describe as 'chestnut'. Both the OE black leather strap and the steel bracelet are excellent, but I really love this combination...

What do you think?

You may have seen some of these before, so apologies for that, but these are my preferred straps for the moment. I also have a U1, which I am wearing, on an Isofrane; looks bad but feels nice!
Flightmaster on Citizen canvas, 16600 Sea Dweller on Phenomenato grey, SARB 017 on Haveston M1936, Explorer on Tropic, Shogun on admiralty grey Blu Shark and SBCM on MM300 rubber.

Been on the look out for a nice strap since picking this watch up recently. Being such a simple design it seems to be very versatile.
Came with a nice black alligator strap, but never really liked black leather for some reason.
Will most likely end up with some sort of honey brown strap. As that is what IWC originally sold it on.
However, in the meantime, the post man delivered this today.
Bit of a left field choice, granted, and a tad feminine.
However, I'm quite a big hairy lump to offset that, and to be honest (I think) I quite like it.

Thoughts please?
Prepared to be shot down in flames on this one :confusion:
I really like this, it's nice for a change....

Posted this in the Friday thread, but it deserves a place in the matching watch and strap hall of fame.

Look what I'm wearing today, Ken!

2 of the 100 getting the love today. Wonder where the other 97 are, as we know one is in Sheffield.
Matthew (Mr Curta) has one and I am aware of another one owned by a TZ'er just up the road from me.
Check the Friday thread, I did link my picture to your earlier post.
The NATO was brand new so when I saw your photo I thought I must pop it on and do a wrist shot. I now have it on a black leather racing strap with nice ventilation holes. :eagerness:

Decided I wasn't wearing this enough and I bought this NATO for it months ago but never got round to fitting it. Much improved, although it sits even higher!

Hi - really like the look of that NATO, any chance of some details? Ta Tim
[QUOTE=Tim63;4819323]Looks to me like an Erika, Tim.

Hi
What nato is that? Please.

This one is rather obvious, because the strap is designed to match the watch.

And here is another combination that I'm very happy with.

And one that I recently let go to an appreciative home. PRS-50 on a custom Toshi.

Thanks, Tim !
It is not an Erika´s Original as suggested by "Deeez Nuuutz" - but it is made of the same material, so its understandable.
It is an NDC Marine Nationale strape from CWC / Silvermans ----> https://www.cwcwatch.com/collections...age-red-stripe
The price of £45 is a bit steep (even if it is below Erika´s) since it is essentially only a length of parachute web with a hook sewn to it and a loose retainer. But it is quite comfortable and secure. After sizing the strap I have simply sewn the retainer in place to the inner part of the strap that does not go through the lugs of the watch anyway.
Cheers
Peter

For me one of Eddies Speedbird NATO’s works on this little Glycine Airman -

Sometimes simple is best, deep black dial works great with a straight black NATO-

[QUOTE=Tim63;4819519]
You are welcome, Tim :-)
I agree that the "hook in retainer" is the weak point of this strap - I would probably not be wearing this strap if I was involved in activity where the hook or strap could catch on something and become undone. A regular NATO strap would be much more secure !
Also the "hook in retainer" system prevents you from wearing the strap loosely around your wrist - there has to be a little stretch involved to keep the hook in place. I guess it is a matter of preference whether to feel that this is comfortable.
But in daily use I don´t feel that I have to wear the strap uncomfortably tight to feel that the watch is secure - and the comfort of the strap is great imho. However If I were involved in activity like that of the french marine divers claimed to have used this system, I would be worried ! Adding to the picture there has been a number of posts on MWR website claiming that this type of strap was not used to wear the watch on the arm but to fasten them to something else, ex. a clipboard etc.
I have not tried it yet, but the system employed by Erika´s Originals seems a little more secure on paper. However I do not think it can beat the inherent security of a good quality NATO strap.
I do intend to try out Erika´s in the near future and will of course post pictures and a small review in here given the interest.
Cheers
Peter
I’ve had Erika’s MN strap for a couple of months now and have had no worries about it. I do wear it securely with a tiny bit of give.

I know the OEM BOR on this is lovely (maybe too lovely) but I’m liking this combo at the moment.

I’ll be looking for a nice shell cordovan strap - which I think will suit it even better.
