Piccini Memoro red. It's £7.50 with a clubcard and currently 25% off when you buy six. I always have a few bottles kicking around and friends are buying it too now.
The old Yellow Tail Shiraz is a consistently potable budget drop in the UK and USA.
Question from a very infrequent wine/alcohol drinker: if I bought 6 of these, how long would they be "good" for? I have maybe 2 bottles of wine in an average year.
Yep, been a regular bottle in our house as well. Very easy drinking.

I’ll second that. Yellow Tail Shiraz is a damn fine wine for the money, although in Sainsburys it has crept up to £7.75 a bottle. Not so long ago it was £6.00Quote:

Toro Loco from Aldi has been our cheapie red wine of choice for several years now.
Has had a huge price hike in percentage terms like everything else post Covid, but still under a fiver per bottle :-)

Although, Villa Maria NZ Sav Blanc is my absolute favourite and for me the best of the NZ Sav Blancs, and I have tried many.
Perfect for the long warm summer nights, and at less than £6.40 per bottle with all the discounts applied, an absolute steal.

Always difficult to compete with wine producing countries who apply very little tax, when a UK bottle has a minimum duty and Vat of circa £3.50, and then has to be shipped to destination.Quote:
