As a prospective JLC Reverso owner, this thread really made me think twice!
I am looking for a good independant watchmaker in the UK who could service my Lancet WWI trench watch at a reasonable cost.
The crystal has yellowed and probably needs to be changed.
The watch -a...
I've found the exact same thing with my Nomos Tangente Gangreserve.
From the watch size and proportions, this definitely looks like a tool watch, but a very well finished one!
I am loving the texture on that dial, the angular hands, the asymetric crown, and the...
I have to say, I quite like it!
Aaah... the Justin Bieber classic!

I have the tangente gangreserve... it does not look too small on my 7in wrist.
However, I would go for either:
- the metro, which design's is stunning
- or the Zurich worltimer with blue dial....
Is that Shrek's girlfriend?
That day when you need to reset the time on all your watches and clocks!
Bit of an incovenience, really...
Doesn't the crown rub on the back of your hand/ prevent you from extending your wrist?

The only watches of mine which have ever attracted attention were heart rate monitors, which other runners took an interest in.
And... which of your watches attracts the most attention?
Do you prefer to wear a watch discretely, or as a conspicuous object of consumption?
Finally, if the latter, how do you show off your watch?
Clearly, it's all about the carpet!
Best brand in what sense?
Proportion of the market? Value for money? Aesthetically? Historically?
That thread made me think too!
I see a watch as a piece of jewelry, not as a disposable item whcih will become redundant in 3 or 5 years time...
I also don't get the fitness watch/band trend: they tell me nothing of use (at...

Can anyone here think of a minimalist or bauhaus-style Seiko mechanical?
I'm in the market for such a watch, but I haven't come across any, other than the Seiko Spirit Smart, which are out of stock.
About £2K
I came across these in a blog - the automatic chronometers look absolutely gorgeous to me:

They would make quite a nice, cheaper, Tag Monaco alternative.
I'll second the Nomos.
I'd pick up a second-hand tangente for that price. But as someone already mentioned: not quite wide enough for your tastes.
