Haven’t done the 3, but I can say at 50 Nevis gave my knees a right battering. Hundreds of steps on the way down took their toll. Scafell wasn’t so bad.

On that, my fingers would agree!!
Another recent acquisition: a Schecter Demon-8. Bought secondhand off FB for a great price, it was looking very for itself with loads of scuffs and swirls - all polished out though. A bit of TLC and...
Top job. I took a gamble on sizing on these work chukkas off eBay a few weeks ago. I went true to size and they’re actually almost spot on. They were barely used and are already all day comfortable....
If I could have got the wide version I would have. As it is, a half size down from my regular size seems to be working out well after the initial break in.
Thanks! How do you find the width on the Chukkas?
The EE width are often hard to get in the UK, and the half sizes can be to some extent. I’ve got 1907 Mocs a half size down at 7.5, normally I’m a size 8 with wide feet. They’ve taken a couple of...
They’re bought as memorabilia, is what it comes down to.
Thanks! I put a lot of work into it, especially getting an acceptable shade of green. The TOM bridge was an absolute paint to fit. My press drill is decent but not accurate enough to drill a 13mm...
True to form! I saw him a couple of months ago and he stopped to tune a good few times during the show. Even as a guitarist I wasn’t hearing any tuning issues though.
Apparently softening of the wood which is irreversible. To be fair it probably plays well enough and would stay in tune enough for most of us mortals. Rossi is notoriously fussy about tuning.
Very true. I went off them for years, can't say why but they held zero appeal for me. Then 2yrs ago I bought Harley Benton's most basic Tele because it was on offer for £62. Honestly, that thing...
The fact a piece of wood managed 50 years of touring, playing smoke filled clubs, sweat, all those changes of humidity and temperature and it lasted so long is nothing short of amazing.
They do some great stuff. Seemed to be having fun there with the Mini in particular!
I’m a bit late to this thread. Until 2 years ago I had a small Marshall amp, an Orange Dark Terror and cab, various pedals and had been through a couple of multi-FX units but hadn’t gelled with...
And then we have this, my latest acquisition! A Solar Canibalismo in, I think you’ll agree, a very stealth paint job. Plays fantastic! This was my Christmas present, to myself.

I’m now working on my second kit, a Les Paul using the Viking Blood Eagle as a theme. This is just being freestyled as I go. If it turns out ok I’ll replace the supplied chrome hardware with black...
Not a purchase, but a kit build I did recently- my first one. As a young un, I was brought into guitars and rock music by Status Quo, and I always really liked Rossi’’s green telecaster. So when I...
Not bad. It’s pretty long front to back, the opening is ok but not great. Depends what you’’re using it for really! Just did a week away in Scotland with my wife and two kids, both teenagers and...
2008 Jaguar XF sv8 here. Costs about £1k a year in tyres and maintenance. I work from home so despite it being a v8 my fuel spend is pretty minimal.
This has been getting a fair bit of wrist time since it landed. It’s a Tuna style case, very substantial, solid bracelet although the clasp is functional but lacking. Has a nice blue dial and bezel...
Kind of, yes. In the last 15 years I've gone from a couple of decent but affordable Seikos, to Oris, Steinhart, Breitling, Omega etc. The Breitling stayed, the rest moved on to be joined by a...
Yep that’s a GBD-200. I just picked up a GBD-100 which is functionally almost identical, and am really enjoying the new MIP screen. Great legibility even in low light.

Noooo not Wilko :(
So sad to hear this. A proper character and a very underrated musician. Rest in peace.
Some good advice here. A secondhand Squier or similar will serve you well. Likewise, I see plenty of Marshall combo amps on FB marketplace for £50 or so. Anything from Marshall, Blackstar, Line 6 etc...
