thanks for the tip, i have just emailed him.
I'm just giving this a little bump incase there are any experts in tonight!
Thanks Croftrock, if nothing else its good to get a little model info from the aussie ad.
any ideas of a good place of sell a piece like this? It's not exactly the typical piece for SC.
i agree!
if it's worth anything close to the one in the ad ill be quite happy :-)
thanks for that, but for the hands they look very similar.
My dad passed this along to me today. I'd not seen it before and i have no idea of the model. I hope some of you knowledgeable folk might be able to give me a little more information. I think its...
For me it's about the look and personally i think the dial (and bezel though that would be easier to correct) has gone past the point where it looks good.. so i'd give it a miss.
If it was a huge...
thanks for the offer (and pm) but its definiteley the earlier big block i'm after.
of course, thanks. I know the shop but didn't realise they sold second hand watches.
can i ask which shop? i know Carter Marsh in Winch but is there another?
great stuff thanks! drop me a message if you'd like to let go of the big block :-)
I came via the Daytona too but they are beyond reach for me at the moment. I think i actually prefer the slightly burlier look of the Tudor, i also love a bit of vintage plexi.
thanks all, i'd like panda dial, plexi, bracelet, lug holes, black bezel.... just working out now which ref's offer what i'd like.
hmm. is there a difference between a prince date and a big block? is it the rolex signed case and crown?
I'm beginning to think i might need a big block chrono but i'm aware there are a many variations between them all. Is there a good online resource for becoming an instant expert? What are values like...
i've been really tempted to give one a try, i certainly will at some point. I'm a big fan of the overall matte-ness. it ticks similar aesthetic boxes for me as matte dial subs, albeit in a modern...
too much stuff i'd like at the moment but just nudging ahead is a manual wind chrono.. a speedmaster or Heuer bund would keep me happy for a little while :-)
I don't think it's a pointless complication at all. Lovely assembly there.
I know what you mean, I had a 14060 sub and a Tudor snowflake but let them both go after a while. I couldn't get on with the shiny plot surrounds on the 14060, it just felt wrong. The snowflake was...
thanks for the nice words everyone, I love all of them and they're going nowhere for now!
I couldn't choose between them, they all offer something a little different.. of course to any sane person they all look virtually identical :-)
I'v accidentally ended up with four of them.
