For those of you who don't/didn't have access to Sky Atlantic, the first three series of True Detective are available to all Sky viewers via On Demand/Box Sets ATM.
The Winter King is OK, but I preferred the Last Kingdom, based on the same author's (Bernard Cornwell) Saxon Stories series.
It's on the RTE equivalent.
I watched the first episode (there's only two!) of Mayflies on the BBC last night. Very good.
