How long ago did you buy the smartwool socks?
I got mine 4 years ago and they did not wash well with the cuffs not holding on my legs.
Prefer darn tough american socks now and are washing well so...

GOt the high ankle bootlet with wool in and these are warm.
Sadly got the boot version but a synthetic lining and they are not as warm as the high ankle Panama Jack shoes.
