I generally leave the bike when the weather is a bit rubbish… but when I have been caught out I’ve found the best solution to not getting my back covered in muck is by having the wife as pillion.

Thruxton and Bobber are my favourite models to look at. Real shame to see this being killed off. I did a test ride on one of the older 865 Thruxtons a while back (in green actually, which was...
I’ve got a Triumph leather jacket on SC just now if anyone is getting itchy palms… just sayin’ :)
Apart from DGR events, I’ve only ever ridden with a group of two.
I know it’s not the same, but many years ago I was in a Lotus group run and some of the overtakes I saw were ridiculous. There’s...
Glad to hear things are progressing Tony (on both bike and body). Some people may have just called it a day but it sounds like you are staying very positive and already have that target of getting...
Jeez… hope you are ok Tony.
Love that Enoch.. if I were to have a bobber it would be in that Morello colour.
Witnessed a horrible accident today… biker had no chance. It was actually a Harley trike (with passenger).. neither wearing a helmet, which I always found to be a strange rule.
50mph single...
Lovely bike there Tony. Timeless.
I’d still have my 865 Black if it wasn’t for the fact that I found it a touch squished when my wife wanted to hitch a ride.
I’d have one in my garage right now (in morello red)….. if my wife didn’t want to pillion !! Great choice.
You should be able to get “laid up” insurance while it’s in your garage.
I just thought it may look nice with the Bugatti stitch. I’d seen that when you use double stitch on a diamond pattern it tends to emphasise the quilting… so asked them to give it a try.
Good point...
Merry Christmas to me..

Ok, it’s not a new bike. Following selling the Bonnie I haven’t really managed to come to any...
Well done. Exciting times !
I may well do that. I think ideally I’d like a Triumph Bobber for when it’s just me… and then a cruiser for when Mrs G is with me… but that’s not going to fly with her indoors I don’t think....
Well just sold my Bonnie today to a nice chap from Clydebank. Glad to see it go to someone who is clearly smitten with it… but sad to see it go. It was a cracking example of one of the last carb’d...
Been out most of the day on my 2007 Bonneville with Mrs G as pillion. Really enjoyable day potting around a mixture of country roads and around town in Edinburgh. Stopped for some brunch in town...
Looks great Tony… bet you’re grinning ear to ear.
Lovely morning backroad bimble with Mrs G hanging on. Ended up in Edinburgh for some brunch before saddling up and heading back home (apparently I’ve got gardening to do).

MOT done on the Bonneville today, clean sheet… but it was embarrassing to see that it had only done 300 miles since the last one.
It’s actually only done 570 miles in the last 3 years (I’m not...
Reminds me of an old E500 I owned .. effortless. I wouldn’t say it’s in its element being hussled through the twisties but it doesn’t do too bad job for a big car. Lovely place to sit though for...
Ashamed to admit that today was the first chance I’ve had to get out on the bike this year. Every time we’ve had any sort of decent weather recently, I’ve had to take the opportunity to get the...
DGR is quite sedate.. granted I’ve only done a couple.. but never seen anyone pop a wheelie or redlining etc. the ones I’ve been on were very civilised.
Late to pick up on this. Sorry to hear of your accident Andy… hoping your recovery goes as well as it can do and you are back riding soon.
Not sure why, but this photo makes me smile. Nice Bonnie. Is it a 790?
