Seiko 6309: four
Sinn 556i: two
PRS18: two (a Q and an A)
I've lost count of the number of virtually identical Poljots I've owned

Junghans Max Bill. Not up on typefaces but probably one of his own?
There's something atomic-space-age-international-modernism about it I like.

If your budget stretches, Citizen PMD-2951. I have the black-dial variant. With my 6.5" wrists its perfectly sized for me. Roughly the same lug-to-lug as the SKX but much thinner.

Willard's 6105 was an influence on my long vintage Seiko phase.
If ever found out what Harry Palmer wore I would have had that as well, but then I love The Ipcress File too.

Ah, that's why I like it.
Apparently I'm still subscribed to Mkii Watches mailing list and this has just arrived. Though I'm wary of doing business with Bill Yao, I still miss my Vantage now and again.

Another vote for the Sinn. Bear in mind the 556A (with numerals) has a matte dial but the 556i (with baton markers) has a gloss one which I feels really elevates it. The difference is quite...
My GF volunteers one day a week at her local Headway centre in London https://www.headway.org.uk
I would imagine a volunteer with clinical experience would be very valuable?

Just to complicate matters, OP might want to keep a look out for a MKii Vantage. Bigger than the Zeno, smaller than the Everest and still cheaper than a 1016. They occasionally come up for sale on...
Citizen Attesa again. HAGWE, folks.

I've used Higuchi many times without issue. I also notice there is a black SDGM available from this ebay seller who I have used a couple of times, though they are a bit slower.
Obviously, in both...
If it helps, there are a couple of reviews of the SDGM001 (the cream dialled variant of the first watch you mention) over on on SCWF:...
