I 100% agree. I do two snow foams, two bucket, wash mitts made from the softest whatever. That's why I was so peeved when you go to all that effort and you get stone chips on it :-(

Just my 2d worth. Feel free to ignore ;-)
I've had two cars now done with this type of after market coating and, tbh, I wouldn't do it again.
The problems are
a) I'm not convinced it's good...
Next door neighbour has recently gone from an Ftype V6S to an alfa romeo giulia quadrifoglio. Only a couple of months old so far but nothing's dropped off unlike his experience with the jag :-( It...
From time to time I've considered a DiY Caterham but, as you hinted, there really isn't anything in it money wise. Chuck in the hassle/cost of SVA or getting the factory to do it for you and, IMHO,...
Just had a spare 5 mins to look that up.... yes I see what you mean ;-)
I would never take what ever TG says as a fair assessment of any car. Heck they said the 4C was a great car! :la:
Love that alpine... want one!
The dryer..? it's the smallest in the Metroc Vac range, the Blaster Sidekick

You lucky, lucky, b*****d. I've recently been perusing the various sites for 'proper' landrovers for sale - itching to get back to the marque. There's not a week goes past that I don't think back...
I think it's going to take some time before I build up the confidence to subject it to a supermarket car park ;-)
He (the Detailer) has told me NO dust covers... let it get dusty and then rinse it off and blow dry (I now have a proper car dryer/blower!).
£680 plus a couple of packets of biscuits and a box of tea bags to keep him fuelled whilst he was working :-) I'll be honest I doubted the expenditure before hand and I really didn't believe it was...
Boxster 981.... 'cause every car nut must, once in their life, own a Porsche.
Just after 35 hours detailing!!
Now looking unbelievable (and how I expected it to come from the dealer back in...
Waxoyling is something I used to do every two years on the landrovers. Got it off to a 'T'. Jerry can with 50/50 waxoyle/derv. Tarpaulin on the floor. Drive onto said tarpaulin. Old clothes to be...
I had a landrover D90 where it was present after two years! I think the issues reported for Lotus has been on vehicles c. 10 years old:

As the past owner of 4 landrovers (I mean 'proper' landrovers not chelsea cruisers) I can contest to this. However the problem is really where the alluminium is in contact with other metals lower...
Yes well I decided that if you're going to get a car to show off (and let's face it that's part of owning a sports car) then a Porsche has got, IMHO, a lot more street cred than an Abarth (FIAT)....
Well if we're showing off our (self) Christmas Pressies then...

Still got to break the news to SWMBO...
What a sight and what a great place to live.... Now if you could just get rid of the 4x4 and the red rubbish bin ;-)
Better engine than a Z4 and MUCH prettier :-)
Just driven the Elise to work for the first time this year. Roof off it was darn cold! Sunny but cold :-(
Hmmm... well the tins of stuff say plastidip on them! They also sell as a DiY kit! Did you look at the link?
Dipmyvehicle.com (facebook.com/dipmyvehicle)
No affiliation but it was a thread on Seloc and the finished pictures looked stunning!
Steve
If you want to see Plastidip to the extreme then just look at one of the Lotus guys has done...

A had two Defenders (actually the first was a D90), one after the other, and found them to be a fantastic do-it-all vehicle. Holidays, commuting, trips to the tip or garden centre, general run...
