I'm not sure what peaky means. It loses a tiny bit of mid-range torque, but it's barely noticeable. It doesn't like holding steady revs at certain points in the rev range, so 30 in fourth just...

The K&N will give you 5bhp or so when the engine is cold but tends to take power away when the engine is hot. It apparently sounds great though! This is the only intake I've seen that actually...
An update, no more Subaru Forester for me, my uncle gave up driving and gave me this beast, a 2004 Skoda Fabia 1.4 Comfort with about 56k miles on the clock:

You'll save a bit of weight by throwing out the completely useless 'style bar' behind the seats. Apart from that, looks great! Any performance mods?
There are a few of them that would make almost decent looking cars if they had the bottom foot or two lopped off. The weirdest ones try to look like coupés on top, as if even the cars are...
I still assume all SUV drivers are embarrassed to be driving the things, I can't get my head round the concept of anyone thinking one SUV might be better than another SUV.
I'm wondering if taking food to my mother, 20 miles away, counts as a genuine reason to be out the house. She's looking after my Healey, I'm thinking I could drive the Landie over there (with...
I'm in isolation so can't drive it in this beautiful weather and by the time I'm out (nine days) we'll be in lockdown anyway. It's excruciating!
A fully restored S3 Landie has joined the Austin-Healey, MX-5 and Subaru Forester. It's bloody marvellous and my four-year-old loves it (he's in the passenger seat, fast asleep). It's purely for...
Me too, hurts your eyes, doesn't it?
The bonnet's the same colour as the wing and bumper, there are two things causing confusion here: 1. there are a lot of reflections going on but you can see some cloud on the bonnet along the leading...
I like your style. I've always liked the 996 Carrera, and don't see the point of a sunroof in sports cars. I've actually thought about selling my old Healey and reinvesting some money into a 996 C2...
That's better.
My little boy (two-and-a-half) sits in the back going 'faster daddy, faster!'. The only thing I dislike is the driver's seat has no support for my thighs or legs. I need to investigate Impreza seats.
Nooooooooo! I'm currently thinking my 2.5 XTEN needs a remap from 245bhp to 280bhp. I use most of the performance a lot of the time and it's not quite lairy enough.
I loved the Paradas on my old one - you knew exactly how much grip you had available and in an MX-5 it makes it very easy to play with.
I really like my Meisters - I've almost worked out the best...
I'd say the cost will be about the same, they're just two different routes with one more cost effective per BHP than the other. Both will come with an ME221, which is the bees knees for plug-and-play...
Very nice. I'm on my second Mk1 MX-5, I've also had coilovers (MeisterRs) fitted, along with a new exhaust, a load of other bits and a set of new tyres. I had Yoko Paradas on my last one, they were...
With the stiffer suspension and harsher ride you'll probably be glad of the ESP.
I remember two things about driving one of these, the pedals are about a foot further forward than they need to be and it has very intrusive ESP which spoils all the fun. I think it was a SLK dressed...
I, for one, am very happy you bought that! Looks superb too.
Why bother with a car detailer at all when there's a hand car wash in or near most towns where you can get your car cleaned inside and out for £15. Even better, just stick it through a car wash.
When your new car arrives at the dealer it needs to be valeted inside and out. It'll have protective wax/wrap/whatever on it, stickers on the glass and so on.
The previous owner, although I think I managed to prise it away from him before he added bright pink 'SCOOBY WRX' stickers down the side.
I'm now the (sort of) proud owner of a 4x4. All I need now are some rub strips down the left-hand side...
