Thanks! The effect is quite mesmerising, can’t stop looking at it!

I use little strips of closed-cell neoprene foam. The idea being that the gas inside the closed cells will expand/compress as needed. No idea if it will
work or not but time will tell! There is...

I've done a couple of digital quartz hydro-mods, here's my first attempt at an analogue :occasion14:

Hard to tell obviously but worth pointing out that the GS looks to be in fabulous condition…
Nice, thanks. Interesting.
PS it would be nice to see more of the large black-dialled military piece in the middle. My guess is something modified for WW2 aircraft use. The folk on MWR would be interested.
That Smiths GS is a rare and lovely thing! If that checks out it’ll fetch a tidy sum for his widow.
Some other nice pieces there too, dirty dozen Cyma, Lemania, vintage Tudor Sub which is now very...
Nice collection. Looks a bit like mine, in that all mine are 36mm black dial three-handers 👍
You could argue that the 'non-bourgeois' watches would have to be digital, or at least quartz - and more likely smart watches. Mechanical watches are an anachronism in 2024 so to choose to wear one...
Nice, I was wearing my one of those yesterday :)
Fatboy for me today 🙂

Funnily enough it was looking at your lovely Stowa in SC that finally prompted me to ‘action’ this idea that I’ve had for a while now!
I’m in touch with MyWatches - I’ll feed back into the thread...
Thanks for this. I’m down south but happy to send the case away. I will get in touch with them.
Do we know of any companies who specialise in case works or modification?
I'm looking to modify a stainless watch case by having its existing lug holes filled (laser welding?) and new ones drilled...
They’ve nailed the shape of the sapphire crystal on this one. It seems to mimic the profile of a proper ‘vintage’ domed acrylic really well. Most domed or top hat sapphire crystals don’t get it...
We tried Pitpat but found it too slow to update. Our Pointer was often hundreds of meters away by the time Pitpat updated. Assume the other GPS/cellular trackers are hampered in much the same way?...
Yes I suppose thicker ones might struggle. I like the bog standard Phoenix-style “as issued” thin nylon Nato’s on mine and they fit beautifully. I do have some Haveston and other canvas straps but...
What type of Nato’s are you trying to use?! I wear mine exclusively on Nato’s and I never had one that doesn’t easily fit.
She might be handing back her gong, but the woman still needs to be prosecuted and jailed. Her statement is f*cking unreal:
The devastation, ruined lives, suicides etc. weren’t ‘caused’ by...
I think those two are very overpriced. I didn’t look at the RAF version but the W10 case is not in great condition and has been ‘worked on’, the crystal is wrong, crown possibly suspect although tbf...
I just bought a Dacia Duster as an interim solution until we are in a position to go ev, or whatever comes next. It’ll be used mainly as a dog-wagon/runabout. Have to say so far I love it! Goes...
I like a manual. You become more involved with your watch.
