I use Brownhill for art and jewelry
But how have people found the non-OEM straps? From buystrap for example, for £30. I'm not sure on the mark up on the Pam oem rubber strap but it must be HUGE!
Sounds good. Any recommendations or links. Or used ones
Or sharkskin maybe? I just think the Luminor looks so much better not on a black rubber strap
Perfect timing on the strap talk.
I'm away for a few weeks and debating what watch to take. It will be a warm beach holiday but i find my 005 uncomfy on the Panerai rubber. Love it on a leather...
You should go for both ;)
I have a 5 digit Sub and a SD43. Both are great in their own right. I don't find the SD43 wears big and it is comfy (once the divers extension is removed). I also wear a...
I thought that stopped years ago. I remember asking for a black bezel for my Kermit years ago and getting one for £45? (Imagine that these days)
The way round it is to send it for service without...
How would someone who isn't a nerd, and checks amplitude, know? I have never checked if any of my watches keep decent time as I never wear any of them long enough for it to matter :)
I went through this dilemma at Christmas with a Kermit from 2008.
I had it serviced at RSC, I'm in Harrogate so it was the easiest place to get it serviced as the AD takes care of...
That's annoying they are changing the Daytona - because I was 3 years away from a black dial :) ... looks like no black dial unless I'm missing it
You should try buying a Porsche GT product ;)
The watch is back. Took 2 months for the service I now need to start wearing it again to check it works :)
I opted not to have it polished as I'm going to wear it regularly and it will only get...
It would help if I had a spring bar tool rather than a penknife 😁
It's done sterling service but after 20 odd year the bracelet on my wifes Seamaster (36 or 38mm ??)is a bit sketchy, pins slipping, quite a bit of slack.
I was going to put it on a Nato but failed...
Threatened with a boiling kettle late at night by masked intruders :(
Called St James today. 2 chips on the crystal at 1 and 4. Wont service without a replacement so agreed that work.
I also asked for them not to touch the hands dial and bezel. They are also not...
New crown needed. I didn’t mention it as I’ve never heard anyone NOT need a new crown :)
I’m not over bothered about the cost as it’s “only” £150 for the glass. Just don’t want to replace it if it will affect value.
Sorry autocorrect- umming and ahhing.
They won’t service without the replacement glass. I’m no Micheal Hunt but when the watch was younger and of significantly less value it was worn daily, on...
Thanks all. I’ll call Rolex on Monday and see what they say. I don’t think I want it polishing, the first time I scratched it in 2008 was really annoying. Don’t want to go through it again 😁
I knew there was a very slight chip on the date viewer. Invisible to the eye
My 2008 Sub LV went to Rolex before Christmas for a service. They have said that a new glass is required due to a chip and scratch. As it never goes anywhere near water I’m not sure it matters but...
I have a Tornado version that I have worn around the world as a daily for 10 years. It's also been supersonic in the back of an F3 prior to my ownership. Never missed a beat though I don't really...
I honestly couldn't tell you why I have an aversion to a refinish, if it was a car with a scratch I wouldn't hesitate to have it sorted. I guess it must be because I've spent too much time on here :)
