I have a couple in my small collection.
My SKX031 is my normal daily wear, but I have been wearing this for the last week or so, and really enjoying it.
@Mariod: as usual your collection is beyond awesome. Can you please enlighten me about the L.E. turtle? Is it really a military issued watch or something like that?
No it is not unfortunately. The seller (a 70+ year old gentleman) is a Sergeant of the French Foreign Legion and served in the 1st Foreign Parachute Regiment from '57-'63 as a Paratrooper and Combat diver. After his service he still enjoyed diving so in 1978 he bought this Seiko 6309-7040 for diving. He gave his Seiko to a comrade in 1981 and his wife returned this watch to him in 2004 after the comrade has passed away. The Seiko was still working but did show many signs of wear and the crown didn't work properly. So, in 2006 he sent it to Seiko Germany for a service. They replaced the whole case and crown and stem and serviced the watch. After that he didn't wear it often anymore but engraved the case back for sentimental reasons. Still a very nice Seiko imho

I have a fondness for Seiko's. Good quality, in-house movement, and great value for money. Here are a few of mine: -

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Afraid I caught the Seiko bug!!
21 years old and still running, it really does amaze me
Love Seikos, lots of great examples in this thread. I've only got the two at present (plus one Grand Seiko).
Here's my ones:
A Seiko 6309-7040 Mod :
A Black Monster:
These both get worn quite a bit and are both reliable and comfortable.
Love the orange hand!
Really enjoyed this thread! I don't know why really ;)
Here's three of mine together
Keep 'em coming :)
Cheers!
What's the white dial watch? Looks like an ananta, but I've not seen a black bezel?
Anyone else clocked this seller on the bay?

^^they are obviously appreciated by some buyers - they sell a few!! It's not like they are being hawked off as anything other than Modified... Perhaps they could leave out the Authentic and Vintage.
Have we seen one Ananta yet?

I haven't worn this for years. I bought it from a great Horological shop in Porto in 2002. I actually bought an omega SM 600 but they just couldn't seal it for some reason. It was misting up under my sleeve, Porto is notorious for being wet and warm.
Anyway. I went back to the shop and my flight was that evening. I ended up taking this new instead. In hindsight what a mistakatomaka but still. It was a good servant until my proper watch obsession took off!

This watch has been around a few other TZ members, but was returned to me today :-)
That's a hell of a Seiko timeline! Great collection!
Today's beater... love the near invisible dial decoration - almost impossible to photograph :)

Bizarrely I found myself looking at my own photo of this watch (a few posts up) and thinking that photo doesn't truly show what a great yellow this dial is. I managed to take a photo almost exactly 48 hours later, which I hope shows the stunning colour better?
Had this one since new; currently on the bracelet from my TAG Heuer 1000M Super Professional
Not sure lying on the kitchen floor with a watch, wine bottle and phone first thing in the morning is entirely normal, but hey ho.
Likeswise - I love the yellow dials, and that one looks great :)
I'm currently on the lookout for yellow-dialed Seiko at the moment, on a 7A28 or 7A38. Will be happy to post it up as and when I ever find the specific one.
