My latest "just a Seiko", well as far as the wife's concerned anyway.

They are just gorgeous and mine probably gets more wrist time than anything else.

I'm wondering if I could get away with a spring drive 8-day using the "just a Seiko, dear" approach.

The Seiko collection advances some more: this one a 1974 LM Special with a whiff of the hi-beat about it – a Daini-built 5206 28,800 bph model (I think) that's aged well besides mild dial discolouration. It came with its original part-beads-of-rice steel bracelet but I've switched for the tropical NATO as it fits better. Can't stop wearing it.

    I still have this one

Got this skx earlier in the week and think I've found my favourite format so far. I went straight for the expensive Swiss stuff and completely overlooked these before but it's seriously impressive for the money!

why did you take the bezel off? at first I thought it was a new model.

where does the strap come from as well?

It looks similar to the hand stitched ones on Watch Gecko

I just really like the look of it with the bezel off, the gmt with no bezel in apocalypse now stuck with me for some reason.

Yep it's watch gecko. My speedy has a bulang one on, which is a much finer leather but is prone to stretch and this one for 1/3 the price seems great value.

There is also a smooth bezel option available if you like the look:

I was going to wear my marinemaster for my holiday on Tuesday, but changed my mind for the orange monster, bought this eight years ago, I can't remember ever wearing it, very different from my normal watch choice, but hey I'm on holiday.

This was bought on the basis of being for "spares or repair", but other than running a little slow it doesn't seem to have too much wrong with it:

My wife got me a SKX009 for Christmas and while I really like the watch, I have never got on with the stock rubber strap.

That all changed today when I changed it for a Bonetto Cinturini ZuluDiver 284 - lovely soft rubber and much more comfortable to wear

Think I might need to get a few more Seiko divers now..
