It’s been a long time since I wanted to buy à quartz watch, but never found something that pleased me.
A few hesitations with some solar models from Seiko or Citizen’ but never pulled the trigger.
Now I have found it and I’m glad I waited for this one :

Very nice. I struggle to think of a better value divers watch on the market today.
I hope you have the 308GT on the drive way and a stack of Hawaiian shits in the wardrobe?

Beautiful and wears incredibly well, you have to just watch the moisture content where you store it as they are susceptible to damage due to the nature of the dial

Ah ah, I wish I had the Ferrari, not sure about the Hawaiian shirts though, nobody can look as cool as Tom Selleck wearing one :p
But I agree on the value proposition. It’s a very good alternative to a CWC Quartz diver for half the price.

The U2 has to be one of the best all-round holiday watches money can buy: sane price, GMT, super-legible, great WR, almost indestructible - perfect

    Looking good, congrats.

I remember that brand from back when they were known as St. Moritz, liked the looks of some of them, but there was always something that stopped me from buying: size or a prohibitive price for sapphire or no solar etc. Good to see they're still around and maybe someday I'll find something to go for in their collections.

    Really chuffed with this one!

Postie just delivered me this one. Cartier Santos De Cartier, Its from 2023, Its the "large" size, but I think it wears really well (photos always make them look bigger on the wrist I find). I previously had a Santos XL, that was on the strap though, I found that to wear larger than this model..It also comes with a nice leather strap, plus it has a really simple bracelet adjusting system...very comfortable on the wrist too.

A couple of (not very good!) pics.

I really should stay off the Internet! However, finding one of the best looking GS's ever (if not the best!) at 37 percent off, AND with interest free credit was too much to pass on. Been on my "bucket list" ever since I got in to watches. Chuffed would be an understatement!

That is special. Having got my first GS I’m a total convert, especially to Spring Drive. Hours wasted just watching the second hand go round…

I picked up this Steinhart this week, very happy with it. Off to the States for a bit of traveling next month so a GMT was fancied. Obviously has the Batman influence but in this instance Steinhart have done their own take rather than a 1:1 type homage.

It’s 39mm, printed dial with excellent lume, date is at 6, nice sporty inner chapter ring, legible ‘fence post’ hands and the ceramic bezel is very well done being lumed and engraved. 500m WR which is about 490m more than I need but still, nice to have! I’m getting +1 second a day timekeeping wise which is surprising and pleasing in equal measure as I don’t believe they regulate their movements (ETA Elabore grade GMT I believe).

What could be better? Well I think it’s time they improved their clasps. Bracelet is very good but clasp is pretty basic, no frills. As it’s their premium range a glide lock of some sort would be nice. After buying I found out this model was discontinued last year and has been replaced with a titanium version.

One of Seiko's best watches ever along with the original SBGE001.

Not at all. Found it in Jura's sale. 30% off, plus additional 10% off code. Unfortunately it was the only one they had. Was surprised to say the least - until the postman's knock I was sure they would be cancelling it!

Thank you its from Watch gecko, there now seems to be a more expensive variant that maybe better.

I have so many straps its gone a bit ridiculous, I only found it and a black one by chance when looking for something else.

Gorgeous. One of my biggest watch regrets was when I saw a LE version of this with a deep green dial (years ago - well before green was cool), in Selfridges. Went away for maybe 45 mins to have a coffee and mull over the purchase and when I came back having decided to go for it it was sold. Gutted.

If anyone spots an SBGE021 on their travels please let me know!

  35. #19235

    Cool

    Congrats Wileey.

Great watch and looks superb on you.

Might be a grower I think, we’ll see.

My wife has already said three times today that it’s quite loud so that’s probably her hinting she’s not keen.

Yeah, that one. AD isn’t calling me for anything recently.

Hour hand not the most legible but I’ll give it time and see where I land.

Special maybe but think the BLNR might look better side by side.

My wrist is about 17cm and it wears fine, mainly because it’s not so long lug to lug.

The bracelet is very comfortable too.

All in all, for the price, I blown away with it. The quality is absolutely fantastic.

Aesthetically, I think it hits the mark too.

The timer is very easy to use and, you just have to remember that the buttons are reversed from the usual chronograph set up.

I Owned one a few years ago but it had one flaw, the crowns don't screw down it's a let down as it's easy to move the internal bezel if it's touched accidentally.

I bought this because I've always regretted selling mine for such a trivial reason.

    This one's staying.

We need a SOTC. You have been building up quite a collection.

I remember the days when queuing up outside the G Shock shop was enough to keep you happy.

It’ll be a Platinum Daytona next

You’d be surprised. Last year was stupid and I reduced a lot. This year I’ve reduced again a bit but will likely reduce further. Because I’m such a sad act here’s 2022
