    First incoming of the year.

Was after a pilot, but something with a bit of a twist. Settled on the Oris Big Crown Propilot. This is the 45mm day date version. Bezel and crown definitely the most noticeable features but overall impression is really good.

This is one brand I am looking more and more at, my aquis small second is superb. I fancy the chrono version of this model mate.

    Its a beauty!

Some Montblanc's have issues with date windows not going very well with the rest of the design eg

but yours is nicely integrated :)

Both the chrono and the GMT look really good. They've certainly created a nice line with the propilots.

Yeah I would agree, some of the previous designs were questionable in my eyes, but recently (maybe its me) they are alot more appealing and the quality for the money is excellent.

That's a handsome watch. The pic of it peeking out from under your sleeve is £.

That Oris is rather lovely. My very first purchase of 2017 was this and it arrived today.

Could not be happier with it.

Some nice pick-ups early in the year; particularly the Mont Blanc, CWC and the Oris. Good work chaps. Start as you mean to go on.

52 days after this arrived for the first time, I have it back, and seemingly fully recovered from whatever misfortune it was that left it gaining a second every *minute*

On the wrist the lower part of the case doesn't dominate so much as in that photo - the polished bezel and extraordinary dial grab all the attention.

Yes, I think I definitely had this floating around in my subconscious when I chose it:

With perhaps a faint memory of this too:

What the Seiko has over both of these, of course, is sodding minute markers

One of the great thrills of this forum is the discovery of brands that are held in esteem by people who know and love watches. I had never heard of Vostok before seeing how often the Amphibia appeared in people's "must collect" lists.
So, ordered one, since they were so cheap it wasn't worth not doing. It arrived today and took it off the plasticky/tinny bracelet I put it on a red leather NATO. Went for the blue zissou dial, and glad I did.

Just received this and really happy with it. Wasn't sure about it prior to purchase but it's better in the flesh than photos and the bund strap may even stay - very comfortable indeed.

This is just a snapshot, but was very, very excited to receive this IWC mark XII yesterday:

It is currently on a NATO but I do have the absolutely gorgeous beads-of-rice bracelet that really sets-off this piece.

Very much enjoying this one !

Just going to add these two to the mix, though there's a thread about them elsewhere

Very, very nice. Like many, in the effort to get the grail my one had to be sacrificed.

My first Oris (purchased from SC), although I need to resize the bracelet I have to say that I am pretty impressed with it.

Cheers. I will post some proper images in the next few days.

I was though delighted to finally pick this up as I am seeing few mark XIIs up for sale at the moment. The watch has some scuffs on the case but the dial/movement are in great condition which is what is important to me. I might well get the case brushed/polished in due course but ATM think that the condition adds character.

Now to hunt down an inexpensive El Primero 1969 Original !

    Thanks again for the comment.

No new watch, appart from the MM300 that arrived 2 weeks ago, but new watch box for the watches I'm not wearing very often.

My Hamilton Watch Jazzmaster Viewmatic S (H32665131) that I received two weeks ago has gained 38 seconds in 5 days which I believe is within the realms of acceptability for the 2824-2 movement.

Today, I received the Longines HydroConquest (L3.642.4.96.6) so it'll be interesting to see how it compares :)

I did need to pay some extra before dispatch because Jura informed me that discount codes shouldn't have been used on sale items :(

This arrived with me a couple of months back but it's only this week I've had chance to wear it for a full week and it's grown in me in that time. It's a Fortis Andora Mir 97 from, er 1997, which looks pretty much NOS to me. It's the second artwork Fortis I've acquired and I like their colour /sense of fun with a solid cosmonaut case and the venerable Lemania 5100. The model was seemingly used by cosmonauts in training and even worn in space!
It was a bit of a gamble as bought at distance but the buyer turned out to be very credible and despite running erratically at first it's now at c4spd and improving slightly so hopefully I've avoided the possibility of an expensive service for an unworn watch. The tritium still glows nicely and it's a nice 38mm so perfect for my slimmer wrists. It's currently in a nato but came on a minty Fortis cosmonaut bracelet although it would have been supplied only on strap when new. Have a good weekend all!

I'm sorely tempted by the GMT, but I'm trying not buy new watches this year (or at all).

Picked up my first Master Coaxial Aqua terra and really like it, went for a smaller size this time and ordered a few straps which will take 6 weeks or so to arrive.

My newly arrived Seamaster 300. Originally came on the brown leather strap which is great for a more casual look but the matt black leather strap from a Dark Side of the Moon Sedna version gives it a great dressed up look I think.

Just got this yesterday from a friend. Very comfy to wear and I like the chrono function, but I think I will be flipping this one pretty soon

I've got this incoming from the 50% off sale. I know they're not exactly popular around these parts but I've wanted to try one for a while and also wanted a white faced diver. Nothing to lose really at the price, and with their return policy.

Saw this on eBay listed as Quartz and with really poor photos, thought I would make a cheeky offer which to my surprise got accepted! Timekeeping doesn't seem too bad so far so for 25GBP I'm quite pleased!

Well, it's a Rolex, quartz and two-tone... something I definitely would not have worn five years ago, but times change. I did take a risk with it, and still not sure wether I'll bond with it, but so far I do like it.

Purchased off the SC (thanks 944ER), it's one of the later models, W-series and visually in great shape. Difficult to photograph, it glimmers macnificantly when light hits it.
