I’d forgotten I had these
Moc toe black suede RedWings.
I picked them up in the USA a few years back for about £30... as they were in clearance section - lucky for me no Americans are size 7 !

My experience of Clarks recently is that they are taking much more care to look the part than to actually function (like many other shoemakers). See for example the false welts to look like a goodyear welted boot. My last pair of clarks boots let water through quite quickly on a wet day and the ingenious idea of leaving the soft foam (think camping mat) exposed in the centre part of the sole with harder rubber around the outside meant this wore uncomfortably thin rapidly.
Buy them if you like the style for walking around town but don't expect too much from them.

They run very large in my experience. Compared to something like a pair of Nike trainers you have to go a full size down. In my case compared with Nike I sized 1.5 down.
As further comparison I half size down from Loakes, and find them similar sizing to Grenson.
I know its officially spring time but could anyone give me a quick heads up please on the sizing of Panama Jack boots and if they fit small, large or exactly as size. Thank you.
Panama jack my usual size although the fur lined ones are a tiny bit more snug
FYI Grenson have a sale on, and actually some normal sizes left for once

Tricker's also have a sale on. I picked up these beauties...

Correct, they're the Stow, and my fifth pair. I think I'm addicted!
I typically wore an 8 in trainers and off the shelf shoes. In Stow I wear a 7.5 and in Bourton (their shoes) I wear a 7. They're meant to be worn with thick socks, hence the country part.
Their customer service is excellent. They'll happily swap out a size, assuming it's in stock. And I'm sure they'd not mind you buying 2, with the intent to return a pair that doesn't fit.
Half price pair of boots; both black grain Grenson Fred’s and brown Grenson Hadleys militaries in the John Lewis sale if anyone is interested.
Most sizes still currently available
🤣 thing is I bought a shoe rack a few years ago, one of those tall ones and it's full.
Had to buy some boxes for my trainers due to lack of space.
Those coloured laces are a great addition to those boots !
I tried red laces in my tan brogue boots and my partner said they looked like Ronald McDonald's boots !
Was eyeing up Panama Jack lined boots ready for winter but the reviews are less than glowing for the brand. What’s the thoughts of T F owners, thanks.
I've got a pair with the shearling lining and have found them superb over the last 3 Winters. In that time I've applied one coat of dubbin and that's it. Very comfortable as well and warm and waterproof too...I'd buy another pair but can't see these wearing out any time soon....

I thought this was an interesting video. Better made than Iron Rangers and probably cost $4-$8 at the time which is $61-$123 now.
On the strength of this thread I bought a pair of faux fur lined Panama Jack boots ready for winter.
Another pair of Tricker's arrived this week. These are a collaboration with a small clothing shop in Seattle.
I love the personal touch...
Initially bought a pair of Diemmes but they arrived and were the wrong colour and size so they went back! To be honest the quality on them was poor compared to the pair i had years ago, suede was nowhere near as good and the lining, laces and collar wer a bit rubbish.
Bought a pair of Fracap instead and couldn’t be happier. Extra pair of rope laces and a Fracap boot brush included in one of the boots!
