Moving to 2007, this is the GW-225C 'Master Blue'. This was issued as a special edition for the G Shock 25th anniversary. It had the smallest issue number of all the 25th anniversary models.

Here you go, on my wrist today after a few months in a drawer (and still on high charge and synched overnight for all those who worry about such things!). It is absolutely mahoosive!

Having very much enjoyed my “Full Metal Mutant” B5000 - it started as a resin strap version, which developed a bracelet and then a rather nice bead blasted finish - I saw that tiktox were selling the Porter edition black bezel and bracelet. Inspired by the posts above, I’ve swapped over to try out the “Hotblack Desiato” look. Admittedly, the screws and buttons remain silver, but I rather like the highlights.

Now, I wonder whether you can bead blast the black IP finish... 🤔

    ^^^ Very nice.

I do like the fact that third party metal bezels and bracelets are available for these watches now.

The Porter has DLC and not IP coating, seems to resist scratches a LOT better and probably not a great base for bead blasting.

    Frogman GWF-D1035B-1 here today,

Interesting - that would explain the results of this week’s experimentation: I sacrificed a spare link to science and determined that while reasonably intense abrasion with glass paper will impact the DLC coating, it takes genuine abuse to remove it from corners and edges. Also, it looks rubbish. 😂

That looks great. Do you have a link for the bracelet/bezel?

And even after five years of heavy usage it still does

...and if I at one time wear down the white shell - or just need a change - I still have the black NIB

If you are referring to the one in the picture above, it is not a 5000. It is a DW-5600VT, the bezel and strap of which used to be transparent. After some dye it now looks like this, and I love it too. Perfect for a little colour in winter days

I have just pulled the trigger on a GW-9300-1JF Mudman from Creation. My first G Shock and my first Creation order too. Solar and atomic were my main requirements - there seemed to be cheaper ways to gain these features but I wasn't fond of the G-Lide aesthetics and nor did I want an analog dial.

This is going to be a new DIY/gardening/stag weekend beater. Lately I have been using the term 'beater' in reference to my Orange Monster, but not sure that it will ever be so out of favour that I am willing to cover it in mud, paint and beer!

Deepsea_Dweller, welcome aboard. From your posts on G-Shock Zone I know you've got plenty more than that 1 Froggy. Get them posted on here as well.

After seeing gw5000 I'm tempted by them! I've got a gw5600bc. Is it worth getting the gw5000 considering they r so similar to each other?

The GW-5000 compared to the GW-Ms is much more solidly built, having a steel case and case back. Functionally they are almost identical - but for me the 5000 is THE best G out there.

Not classic black thought would throw some stainless into the pot....I like it but the bars I find make it harder to read so don't wear as much as I should do......
