Bump for the watch event of the year. The Northern Powerhouse Watchfest. Forget Basle; this is the place to be.

Anywhere from Carlisle to Birmingham is within easy reach (except Grasmere obviously) so get your names down chaps and chapesses.

    Morning Gents,
Paul has just corrected me on the date, for some reason I had Sunday in my head.

As such I'm booked up at lunchtime so I'll be the second wave heading in around 3pm if anyone's still around, sorry.

I'm working tomorrow but just on the off-chance I can sneak away at lunch time will someone please PM me the venue?

It's unlikely but I'd like to show my face if at all possible. Ta.

Unfortunately I am not able to get any time off for good behaviour, let down by babysitter and I'm not sure my daughter is ready for the TZ watch and drinking experience aged 10.

Sorry to hear that. If you want to bring your daughter along she will be the source of the most sensible dialogue before long.

A thoroughly enjoyable adventure over to the dark side for me, a big thank-you to Kirk and Alec for making it happen. Excellent venue, easy train access, great beers and food.

Yes, most enjoyable. How pleasing to see a group of youngsters helping to keep the British pub culture alive whilst behaving impeccably.
Thanks Kirk; new venue passed muster and then some I would say.
Here's to the next one, with even more participants.

I was in bed by 9pm! I really enjoyed the day.

The 'special one' must have been too busy to meet his watch friends. Perhaps he was trying on women's underwear.

Looking forward to seeing you there. We resolved to have another in the Autumn. The date will be decided late Summer and given plenty of airing. I suspect that we will use the same venue; it was good to have our own room.
Whilst more TZers would have been nice, it was unusual and in many ways beneficial to have a group that could chat to everyone rather than split into different groups as has happened in the past.

Slightly OT but any idea where those cases are from?

Both bought secondhand from SC on here Swisschrono.
The black one is embossed "Hillwood"; the pig-coloured one has no helpful embossing, but someone will be along shortly to identify it no doubt.

Many thanks. Have come across hillwood before (their watches boxes) so will check them out.
