I remember these being hung up in the lounge when i was young..
many many too choose from, but this one I am sure will be around for a long time, and the most recent I can remember, I wanted to post the other one but I feel its maybe a little upsetting for GD
Funny i was in Australia when 9/11 happened and they said a plane has hit i thought of a small Cessna , pretty insignificant but when the pictures started to come through, no one felt safe that day and we were as far away as you could be from it..
Australian model caught distracted during a photo shoot when the first plane hit tower 1. What an epic photo. It’s so weird to think that normal things were happening on 9/11. People were walking their dogs, riding their bikes, models were doing photoshoots… and the planes hit

Yep pretty surreal

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
I was in Rajastan close to the border of Pakistan when this happened. I can remember hearing about it on the TV in the Haveli reception and thinking it just could not be real. Some local people were jeering and spitting at us in the streets, as they thought we were Americans, it was a very strange time and I have never felt so far from away home.
About a month later when I finally got back to London, we had our photos from our 15 month long 'round the world' trip developed which included pictures of us with the Twin Towers in them, taken roughly a year before.
It still doesn't seem quite real now.
Ah, Erica Roe!
You've gotta love Wikipedia:
'She was working at that time in a bookstore in Petersfield, Hampshire, but moved with her husband and children to Portugal to become an organic farmer of sweet potatoes.'
How utterly random.
And this one....media spin or not,it's so mind blowing...
Peter Norman
That last one reminds me of this one.
This one surely fits in the iconic class, and gives me the jitters every time.
Looking at those black and white ones made me think of these:
Cheers,

The photographer who took this photo later committed suicide... Part of his suicide note read "I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses and anger and pain … of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners."

That website is absolutely fascinating, thanks for the link.
This one has a certain resonance with me:

This always makes me smile. The joy on their faces.
