    Hello. And a current SOTC

Hello folks. Thought I'd introduce myself. I've visited the pages of this forum many many times but never got around to joining in. I'm a member of other watch forums but it seemed rather remiss to be in the UK, love all things wrist watches and not be a member of this esteemed forum, so here I am.

I've loved watches since I was a kid in the eighties and although I knew nowt about anything other than digital Quartz watches, I loved em all the same.

My real addiction started about 10 years ago when I started to learn more about mechanical watches and first hit upon the various seiko 5 models. That's where I first built my collection and realised how many nice watches you could own without spending a fortune. But then I turned 40 and my wife gave me a Omega SMP chrono and everything changed...

    Here's me current bunch.

I'm currently missing something with a bit of blue and have been looking at the Tag Forumula 1 GMT with the batman bezel. Seems a lot of watch for not too much much cash. I also like the look of the Sinn 903 Navigator in blue.

If any of you good folk own either, I'd be interested to see some nice pics please.

Welcome, you've been quietly building a great collection there!

I really like the Sinn 104, strangely it looks much smaller than the Black Bay even through they are both 41mm

I agree that you need some blue and the Sinn 903 would be a great choice. I'd normally recommend a 'skyfall' AT but you already have the aqua terra base covered.

    Keep us posted!

    Hi and welcome.
Lovely collection there, there one that stands out to me is the Bell &Ross. I love a bit of pvd. Have you thought about the tag Monaco with the blue dial?

    Hi,
    Nice collection there.
I also like the Sinn but Tag Carrara would be my first choice.

Welcome along and great collection! Liking the omegas. Have you looked at the Bremont range for a bit of blue..? Alt1-P & U2 could be options.

Enjoy the forum and upload any pics if you decide on the blue

Most likely due to wide angle lens characteristics. The Black Bay is in foreground corner of the frame and subject to the greatest image distortion. The Sinn is more central and the porportions are more accurately reproduced.

    Really nice collection!

I've only recently taken the Sinn 104 on board. It seems very wantable.

    Thanks Jon

Those thick 43mm Bremont cases are just too big for my tiny wrist. I also think Bremont prices are we bit sharp and I can always find something cheaper that I prefer. That's not to say I don't love some of their watches. Such as this the Boeing Model 247/WH.

Yeah, we all need a black watch in the collection I reckon. The pvd coating on the Bell & Ross is astounding. Had it a year or so and its not got a single mark on it. Even on the back of the lugs from strap changes. I once a had a pvd Fortis Fleiger that couldn't take a hit. The pvd came away very easily.

    Really nice collection!
    Cheers.

And the black bay is also higher in the box due to the larger buckle on the strap. The Sinn does wear smaller but that's down the lugs been angled downwards and curving to fit the wrist rather than the slab sided, and therefore flat black bay lugs.

    Ta

I've always liked the black pvd watch tan strap combo of the B&R.

Sorry for the multiple replies. How the hell do you do multiple quotes in one post?!?!?!? I'm clearly a bit dimwitted.

    Hi

Welcome and I am liking your collection thus far!!!
I'm guessing like many of us on here you still have a collection of the bog standard stuff around like the Seiko 5's etc even if it's just for sentimental reasons!!
Things could get a little bit expensive once you are able to enter SC!!!

I only have two others not in the ole watch box. A Fossil chrono and an old Rotary commando watch thingy, both bought for me by my missus many moons ago. I never wear either but as you say they have some daft sentimental value.

The tissot was a recent purchase. It's one of their newer models - the Quickster. The dial detail is fab for the pretty cheap price.

Hahahahhaha sussed this multiple quote business

Either the PO or the Tag probably. The Tag has really surprised me. I was at the dealers trying on a bunch of Rolex and nothing was quite floating my boat. Then I try on this fella and I loved it instantly. I've now found myself looking at Tags more and more. Especially some of their new designs. I understand they're making a concerted effort to try and keep prices fairly reasonable but improve the quality of the watches overall and if this one is anything to go buy I'd say they might be getting there.

Nice collection. I just added same Bell and Ross to my collection. I have big concerns on knocking the PVD to reveal silver underneath and becoming ocd about it!

    Welcome from the Netherlands.
    That's a nice collection you've got going.
As a big Sinn fan, it's the 104 for me.

I also like a bit of blue, this may be a future purchase, the T2B EZM 15

    *not my photo

I really like your collection. Seems like a really well-considered selection, with watches from a variety of brands and price points, rather than money-no-option saturation buying.
That Sinn has really caught my eye - they seem a lot of watch at a fair price.

Cant seem to edit. Obviously l meant "object", not "option"...

Ooh, good choice. Very nice. And the perfect size for me. It would also give me something in titanium which I've missed since I sold my Pelagos some months ago. Although, this would probably be my preferred choice for a blue dialled titanium watch.

I've actually had a self imposed £2k limit when buying watches and so far I've been able to keep to it. And there's a lot of fun to be had trying out some cheaper watches and selling them on without wasting loads of cash in the process.

I like your £2k rule.... but rules are there to be broken :-)

Cheers buddy. Although returning home to Newcastle, after 16 years living and working in London, means it ain't quite so easy to get to try some of the more specialist brands. Nomos is the obvious one.
