suggestions for a birthyear watch 1982

    Hi Gents

I know (to a degree or other) that Birth year watches are popular. I too am keen to get something.

The Rolex Sub seems the obvious choice, but what else would you recommend for a 1982 birthyear watch. No real criteria, I tend to lean towards Omega in general.

I'd get a Rolex Day Date ref 18038 for £6k. Simply beautiful and memorable.

I've just acquired a lovely 1982 Omega De Ville on SC. So I can certainly recommend Omega, their 1980's offerings were very slick. Just bear in mind that most 1980's watches are quiet small and very slim. Not only by today's standards but also compared with the bolder designs of the 1970's. Expect 35mm diameter and 7mm depth for a nice 80's Omega watch not falling into the strict dress category (they can be smaller still).

This is mine made in '82 and sold in '83

    A no brainier - a GMT Master 16750.
Might take a wee while to find one that ticks all the boxes mind.

Perhaps not, but surely the opportunity to write BOOBLESS and show it to your friends never gets old...?

    Haha, so true.

I enjoyed playing the 'number invaders' game too.
