    New member saying hello...

Hello to all of you, I’ve been lurking here for a while and have now joined up. I bought myself my first “proper” watch last year, a 36mm Rolex Explorer, as a treat for my 50th. This year I’ve also bought a polar Explorer2 and a Citizen diver as a daily beater. Hopefully pics below if I can get the hang of posting them.

I wasn’t keen on the Citizen rubber strap so I bought a selection of straps from Time Factors, it’s currently on a “Yet Another Bond” NATO. I’m going to try and not buy another watch for a while, I’d like to enjoy what I have for the time being. Having said that I’m sure it’s gonna get expensive if I hang out in this place!

    Thanks for looking. Regards, Gary

Welcome Gary, that's a nice little collection you have there. I started with a 50th birthday celebration watch too, a Zenith El Primero.

Welcome and congrats on some nice watches you've acquired.

I'm going to try and not buy another watch for a while... Best of luck with that then. ;-)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm also a member on a HiFi forum and have amassed a grand total of 300 posts in 6 years, so I won't be the most prolific member, but I will try to contribute!

It never ceases to amaze me how much knowledge there is on here. I've learnt a lot already and hope to learn a lot more. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. That's quite a start you've made with your pictured watches. You've covered most of the bases but there's plenty of other strap options to explore ()...as well as watches...

    Ah, new blood. Welcome!

An Explorer 1 and 2? Just how much exploring are you planning on doing?

Well, here's the thing. The Explorer 1 was very much an impulse purpose, I saw it and fell in love, I just had to have it. Being my first purchase I feel an attachment to it, I doubt I'll ever sell it. The Exp2 was much more considered, and only purchased after a fair bit of research. I do travel a fair bit and the 2nd time zone is a genuinely useful feature. But that said, the only exploring is at a desk!

Trying to hold the madness in check....

Welcome Gary, enjoy your time here.

Very nice trio of watches there buddy. You can't go wrong with your Rolexes, and the Citizen is a very nice change from the more usual Seiko SKX0xx.

    Good choices ;)
