Mooophase complication looks amazing, shame its 44mm, just too big for me personally. I'd be tempted at 40mm or even 42mm.

    I agree: too big.
My 105.003 is 39 mm and I still consider that the ideal size.

And for me, I much prefer a simple dial and just cannot see the point of a moon phase complication.

Apart from the date hand, I like it. Difficult to see how else you could pull off a date complication on that dial though.

This, I prefer three handers with central seconds personally. I'm sure it will be loved by many though.

Looks nice to me especially the moon phase .... excepting the minute & hour hands.

Fratello Watches (link) say it has a 'stainless steel case and a blue sun-burst dial'.

I think this sums it up - I too love it because it's so... daft!

Still, in this price range*, I'd be looking elsewhere for this sort of complication, but I do like it (and I generally dislike blue watches - this and the TT Sub honourable exceptions).

    * though probably not marketed to folk like me who, for this money, would be a single watch collection. I suspect it's aimed more for people who already have several sensible watches and can afford to splash out on such a thing for a bit of fun.

Serious question for those who monitor such things. If Omega unveil this watch in Baselworld in March - how long will it be before it starts to appear in the UK ADs and will the greys who discount like Iconic get them at the same time or much later. Basically, if I wanted one should I go and put a deposit down at an AD like people did with the Snoopy or should I wait until the greys get them and offer 10% to 20% discounts etc. Any advice from people who have been in a similar situation would be much appreciated. UK price is expected to be around the £6.5k mark.

As this is a standard production, you'd only be best paying full retail if you're desperate for one imo. If you wait a little longer, usually a month or so after release, they'll appear cheaper elsewhere. Once released you could just call Iconic etc and pre order one most likely, and save 20% or so in the process. That's a lot of money!

Many thanks for that. Like you, I am in the North West so a trip to Iconic is not a huge problem. If the big release is at Baselworld in March roughly when do we expect to see them appear in the UK. To date all the articles that I have read seem to have the same stock professional promo images and detail - no one appears to have seen one in the flesh so to speak.

20% off would bring the price down to £5.2k - so well worth the wait. I was tossing a coin in my head between this and the Snoopy, but the inflated prices - even on here are not attractive and I have always liked blue watches for some reason.

Presumably when a watch looks like that, no one's terribly fussed about the awkwardness of reading the chrono's 60-minute subdial?

I have had an exchange of e-mails with Omega's National Sales Manager this morning and he thinks the new blue Speedmaster Co-axial moon phase will start to arrive in the UK from October this year and the price could be as high as £8k.

Very, very nice. But it will be too big for me, so I'll just enjoy seeing it on others' wrists.

Found this link, the first photos from someone who actually got their hands on one rather than the usual professional promo shots that Omega issued.

Absolutely stunning - want one !!

Mmm - I need to think about this.

A blue Speedmaster should be a good thing, but somehow I'm not convinced about this.

I quite like it but it's a little too busy I think.

I think the date hand will look a bit rubbish when it's over a • rather than a number. And is that a 12 hour chronograph dial?

Based on the 9300 movement so the left sub dial will be running seconds and date, with the right sub dial being a 12hr chrono.

    It's a master Co-ax so will be anti-magnetic etc.

It looks nice but the price tag is not so desirable.

That will be a nice watch on the wrist, we have seen more and more of the sporty looking blues appear across all manufacturers and its always a good shout as its great with Jeans and also with grey and blue suits etc

I'd rather have a more manageable Zenith 410 at 42mm

Like that, but wonder how they'd compare. My first thought would be that without a bezel, the 42mm Zenith may well wear just as large as the 44mm Speedmaster. But the shrinking effect of the Speedmaster could be reduced since it's effectively the same colour as the dial.

My sentiments exactly although I prefer this version with the silver White dial, probably a lot cheaper to buy than the Omega and without any reduction in quality. I do really like the way they have done the moon phase complication on the Omega though....

I am not so fond of the blue dail and 44mm. I like the old Speedmaster moonphase.

Stunning watch, the moonphase with an actual NASA photo is a great idea and the blue face and strap all add to the desirability. Love it.

Probably the 1st speedy I really like to look at. Well I am into the blue dial thingy.

Not for me - I've liked the twin sub-dial speedmasters (different enough from the moon watch to get one) but the moon-phase thingy doesn't work for me (in looks or functionality) - take that bit away and it is a very nice watch (a grey or black might be nicer still)

As always, need to see it to be sure but a Speedmaster with a Moonphase is a great idea. The date feels awkward though.

nunya makes a good call on the Zenith, you can actually use all three sub-dials which is a rarity for them these days.

Stunning watch, yes they are big but I love the blue finish and the fact it's steel. Usually blue and omega of recent times means titanium. So pleased to see this in steel.

The only thing not to like is the price. Apart from that it's a big from me.
