It's usually on the fitted brown leather. But I'm gagging for a big clean face on NATO. Thought I'd see what it looked like before throwing the NATO my SKX007.

I think that combination works, but more importantly what do you think?

Because the mechanism being used is usually for a date window at the top of the dial - you would want the passing day to exit to the left and the new day to arrive from the right - and so the day wheel will be moving in an anticlockwise direction. Am I making sense?

It's a nice combo, I agree. Very dressy.

I think it looks OK but the double webbing under the case makes it sit a bit high, but not too bad.

Nothing wrong with the look at all, if you're of the opinion that it's sitting too high and it's a 20mm lug width then you could try one of Eddie's two piece straps with deployant instead.

I think the NATO gives it a more casual than dressy look but, but I like it.
The explanation of the day layout is very interesting - thank you.

Cut off the "extra piece" and the watch will sit a lot lower and give a cleaner look with the metal keeper removed. Also you can position the buckle exactly where you want it.
