Like the looks. But I would agree with your suspicions re datejust.
I have an itch for a white faced watch and also a Tudor....
The Classic Day-Date looks nice on the screen. Has anyone seen one in real life and can offer their opinion please?
My only worry is does it look a bit too much like a datejust? I already have a datejust and I admit it's not been out of the watch box for a good 6 months :-(

I like the look of the watch apart from the bezel. It looks like it's trying to be a cross between a yachtmaster & a datejust to me.
For me, the bezel lets it down. If it offered a Turn-o-Graph function it wouldn't look so bad. This watch with a DateJust bezel would be nice, Rolex won't make it in steel so their sister brand could.
Excellent choice I have the black dial and sits and looks nothing like DJ the bezel is totally different but check out the plane bezel as well
very decent piece.
really a good choice.
The polished lugs will probably look great, for about 5 minutes...
tbh there's a few Tudor models I'm looking at... the grantour is also catching my eye.
The grantour sure beats the watch in the OP I think.
The day date model in the Glamour range has the smooth bezel, and is 39mm, rather than the 41mm of the Classic day date with the bumpy bezel
The Tudor mobile website is beyond infuriating.
I can't find a real life photo of the version with the black ceramic outer bezel:
