I think there is some confusion across this thread about what constitutes a "A good plate ..."

A man who I know of locally, called William Ivan Ferris, bought his perfect number plate decades ago. I remember seeing it on several of his cars

This was long before the Internet and certainly long before Wifi. I assume he sold it as I haven't seen it about in ages.

I wonder how much he got for it.

In case the penny hasn't dropped, he had WIF1

There are a few good ones around us in Cardiff: BRU5H is on one of Stokes (decorators) vans ... HOU5E belonged to Harold Greene (estate agent) and FLY21T belongs to local Travel Agent

I'll try and get a shot of a Range Rover I pass on the way to work lately. It's well put although I haven't clapped eyes on the owner/driver but I'm guessing she's had some sausage.

Saw this last week in Leyland and i don't know if it's my age but found it offensive and did think about reporting it.

I must confess to number plate spotting - always have from childhood. Around where I live often see some "interesting ones" depending on your view. Some that spring to mind:-
    PR05 FLY
    CAP 741N
    BOX3R
    K155 SAH
    1 UK
    DEL 130Y

Used to have a client with JET 911 - of course on his 911

Presumably all the hundreds of plates like F485UCK and W4NKR were held back, never released?

Haha. I reckon they secretly belong to some of the F485UCK and W4NKR's on here actually but they wanna keep their heads below the parapet.

Now, that's what it's all about, a bit of fun which brings a smile to your face.

Now if I owned that, the words 'Birmingham City' would be printed in smaller letters underneath.

Spotted in Peterborough - Black McLaren 650S with the plate OH11 YES

I think the owner also has an Audi A6 AllRoad because i've seen a similar plate on one - OO11 YES (11 was bridged with a black screw cover)

I've just seen a Range Rover in Stratford on Avon, driven by an older lady (which makes it all the more amusing) with the plate NO N1X

You'll have to explain that one to me... Looks like it came off a 1986 ford orion (or something of that vintage) to me, but I can't figure out what t is trying to say.

I saw JKR 1V yesterday which I thought would suit the author which reminded me of JVC 1V on a gold Rolls Royce outside the JVC UK office in Leeds back in the mid eighties.

I spotted 6Y on Astra (or what appeared to be an Astra). Unfortunately no pictures as I was driving (not that I know how to post photos anyway!).

    I saw

TH15 MBZ, on an E class
    TH15 JCB on a Disco.

Both were seen within 2 minutes of each other around Heathrow on M25
