The only criticism of him is for his alleged* dual-ID playing on here and I guess that he has lied to people who regarded him as a friend. If he thinks that's being 'assassinated' then 'grow a pair' seems a fair response - and the muting is nothing to do with any of us.

Most of the vented opinions seems to be that he was a rather nasty individual based on how he acted here. Why would anyone care about giving him the chance to reply in person at a GTG? Is he going to reveal some incredible justification for his consistent dickishness or should everyone form an orderly queue for an apology?

Fair point, most of us have screwed up at some point, I've no "dog" in this fight but, folk would understand more if he was to post a statement even via a third party.

At the end of the day it appears to have been just a bit of a fun / wind up session, (depending if you had a barney with Sarky or not) - however I guess at some point there would of been a person with two IDs and both with access to Sales Corner which I guess is where "potential" dangers occur.
Now I know the guy is a top safe buyer / seller and I'm not indicating anything otherwise, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere with all the mucking about regardless of popularity.

I’ve got no dog in the fight and tbh I don’t care Steve’s always been sound sound with me and I judge people by how they treat me not what others say. I’d be happy to meet him at a GTG and have a beer as I would with 99.9% of the membership here, it’s always been a nice place to be but if you fill somewhere with people even online arguments will ensue at some point such is life. As I said in an earlier post I don’t agree with slating somone who can’t defend themselves that’s akin to kicking someone when they’re down in my book.
Met up with Steve a couple of weeks ago, he did me a big favour sorting out a watch. Great bloke face to face would happily meet again at a GTG. Who knows he might turn up in a dress, and ask to be called Sarky.

Indeed. We know that he can in fact communicate via a third party because he has done so: See #195. It is both ironic and hypocritical that the subject of this successful third party communication is the (demonstrably false) claim that burnsey66/sarky has been "muted". If he can communicate via a third party then it it untrue to say that he has been "muted", even if he is no longer allowed to post himself.
One might have expected a wronged man to take up the surely excellent opportunity to pass on a reasonable explanation for, or denial of, his deceptions. The logical conclusion is that he was not wronged and that under the sarky persona he was continuing his pattern of damaging the forum for his own gratification that he began with the burnsey66 persona.
Offering to explain in person seems to me to be odd when his deceptions were carried out online. Remember that he has the demonstrated ability to pass on a message of explanation online but chose not do so.
He may be a great guy in person, for the very few who might meet him that way, but remember that most of us can and could only interact with him online where he was, in net terms, a malign and damaging influence in my experience.

It does not matter if Burnsey is an hallowed saint or a totally nasty bit of work, Eddie has nailed him to the shithouse door and he is now decomposing.
It's over, it's as much over as your great great great great great grandmother dying all those years ago. You don't worry about her and you don't need to worry about him.
Everybody knows you can only have one account for the forum and everybody knows the penalty for disregarding this is that both accounts will be banned. Forget all the other arguments and speculation, it really is as simple as this and nobody is too big to be exempt.

Sure, the VolvomanUK ID has been live since almost 10 years, so he had two active forum IDs until he got banned as Fords. And what's the point of banning anyone when they can return a week later with another ID?
