The lume on the Citizen Chronomaster is pretty insane. The hands must be lumed through as the glow shows under the hour and minute hands.

I'm surprised theres no pic of an Orient star 300 m saturation diver in this thread ...the brightest lume of all...unless any one knows different.

    Lume shots only

Struggling to figure out the time/determine which are the hands on that first one?

Judging by the positions of what could be the hands, relative to the indices, I see 17 mins to 4 o'clock... but that 3rd big one has got be the minute hand approaching the half hour, surely? In which case neither of the others is midway between the indices for that part of the hour?

    Apologies if I'm being thick!

27 mins past 8 and 19 seconds would seem a good shout (the Helson?) especially if you have the other watch as a reference after dark

    Yep thanks, that figures!

I think in that case it’s the fact that the hour hand is far too close to the 9 to be that time, which is what threw me... if that makes sense?

Lume on my breguet marine. Given the lume is nortoriously poor on the marine I was surprised how clear it is there’s just not enough of it!! (apologies for the poor pic quality)

Not wishing to urinate on anyone's french fries but, lot's of watches will glow like a beacon after a few seconds under a lamp, but 20 minutes later? Two of the cheapest in my collection one a MM Chinese copy will glow in the shade after a couple of minutes on the wrist on a cloudy day but a few minutes later...

The lume will of course fade, but all my watches (Rolex, Seiko, Citizen) are very legible up until the next morning 7am.
