Very nice indeed and I do like those pencil type hands over the larger sword hands. Good catch and a great price after multiple reductions.
Thankfully I have an obsession with different watches that all look the same...
There is something about watches that inspired, met or pay homage to Def Stan 66-4.
I love the design language. They result in a handsome watch but they offer great clarity and robustness.
I am also partial to the BUND spec Chronograph type watches
Maybe I should branch out in my choices but I like what I like.
Sorry self indulgent post as I am smitten with my new watch.

I love sword hands but the pencil hands on the small triangle dials just work perfectly.
The spear type seconds hands are a great design feature as well.
For the less educated members of the audience (yours truly) can you tell us a bit more about the collection. Some I recognise, but some I don't.
Well done on that, have to agree that the stick hands suit the small 12. Like that 83 reissue and nearly bought one a few months ago and now thinking I should. Love Heuer bunds, most are refurbs and sold by a guy on MWR. Wish he'd leave them alone tbh, they'd probably be worth more!
My pal always bought red bicycles. His missus never noticed the new one coming in !
More than happy to expand a bit.
I don’t want to bore everyone though.
In a nut shell.....
The MOD bought some divers watches to equip the navy and other services.
The watch that was deemed the best (most economical) was the Omega Seamaster 300 (pretty much identical to the vintage one pictured, which Omega re released as the SM300MC on bracelet)
The MOD requested some changes including a more distinctive hand set that distinguished hour and minute hands and clearer dial lay out that incorporated a clearly visible 12 marker.
This format formed the basis of the later Seamaster 300s
The Seamaster 300 with these modifications formed the basis of Defence Standard 66-4 which was used for subsequent military divers watches including the Rolex Milsub and CWC diver.
The Def Stan also outlined the requirements for field / aviator watches
It took the format used in the IWC MK11 and set it as the standard from that point on. This is why subsequent watches like the Hamilton 6b pictured (RAF) and the CWC W10 (army) look similar. This design carried on in to the CWC G10.
Chronographs were also included; the design based on the Lemania watches of the 60s, eventually ended up in the CWC chronograph pictured, these were the of last contract for mechanical wrist chronographs issued to the MOD (Navy) in 1982.
I hope that makes sense

Super post and collection!
I’m increasingly drawn to only having military inspired pieces in my collection - I find the functional designs to be beautiful. Devoid of any frills they have a pureness that just works.
All in my humble opinion of course....

Which gets the most wear and why?

That Omega is really nice!
Funnily enough, in my search elsewhere on the forum for a 'fake/I'm living a lie lume' I obviously wandered in the Omega forums looking for a real watch! Not the same I know but the Seamaster 1957 Trilogy, I think they call it seems to be the modern take? Sigh - one day, maybe!
The trilogy’s look fantastic and the build quality is amazing.
The 300MC I have is a fantastic, (it’s a better quality, better looking watch than a submariner in my opinion) vintage looks with modern build quality. The clasp is an engineering marvel. However it does not have the character of my new to me vintage SM300. I like Fautina if I am honest but it is no replacement for a vintage watch.
If I were inclined to only own one watch the trilogy Seamaster would be a strong contender.
It’s NATO washing day today.
Mostly Phoenix but with 2 CWC and 1 CNS
Sanity before the family arrive for Easter lunch.
Have a nice day, whatever you are doing.
