    You are on the right(ish) track. The engine is a Renault 12K and is an important clue.

    I am slightly disappointed that neither Matthew nor Ralf and CB did not find what that little castle was.

    That looks RF related but further research is required.

    Nope. To be fair it's only one part of a much larger machine, so may not be an easy one.
