Norfolk in way.
I have never seen so many caravans and motor homes in my life, they are everywhere, the queues at junctions are huge as they can’t pull out and no one is letting them out.
Norfolk in way.
Pop down to the south west - I think the whole of the uk has moved here.
Nope they're coming along the A27 towards Chichester then down the A286 to Selsey or the Witterings!
A long line of them with a couple of weekend cyclists at the head of the convoy.
Think it’s busy everywhere. Our friends came back from bude yesterday. Took them nearly 6 hours 235 miles
A17 on any given weekend. If the tractors don’t get you, the Motorhomes and Caravans will.
Bank Holiday or similar, halve the tractors but quadruple the others....
UK coastal places will be hell on earth this year
Just hope people take their garbage and crap(literally) away with them

We've just comeback from our place in Somerset - it's usually about a 3 3/4 hour drive back to Central Beds.
We left at 9am and did it in 3 1/2 hours - our best time yet. No traffic issues, no hold-ups, we were amazed!
Frankly I was braced for a very long haul.
Really odd.
So clever my foot fell off.
I was looking forward to a quiet week in London last week as everyone would be in Norfolk/South West/Brighton etc. Hence why I almost never go away during any major school holiday! Sadly not so this week, local traffic terrible, public transport full and work busy too. Time we shipped a load of people back abroad on holiday I think...!
I was delighted to see pelotons of lycra nonchalantly adding to the frustration and lack of movement in the Cotswolds yesterday,I didnt see any caravans though.
Bibury has gone mad all the way in cars parked everywhere, locals have opened fields and are charging a fiver to park.
Best avoided along with Bourton and Stow on the Wold, though compared to Snowdonia and Betty Covid etc.it was empty.
West Wales coastal roads were chock a block full yesterday. Caravans and motorhomes causing chaos. 30-40mph on 60 roads and generally being a bloody nuisance. Today it was lovely and back to normal, as they had all bxggered off.
You should try the New Forest.
If we're having a caravan/motorhome/weekend cyclist-off, you'll have to go some to beat the Forest.
We can add horses, cows, pigs and the Beaulieu donkeys to the mix as well.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
9 hours from St Ives to London on Friday. Pretty much 7 of that to get past Bristol. A30 and M5 was awful!!
Am I the only person in Britain who thought - sun's out, Bank Holiday, roads will be rammed, put up sunshade and chill?
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
Do they still point at cars in Norfolk?
And laff

How I long for those days! - it’s my neck of the woods and I’ve been amused this year watching the holidaymakers trying to manoeuvre enormous Audi SUV’s down country lanes against oncoming caravans. Why do people drive these things? Is it a ‘mines bigger than yours’ thing ?

South Devon in one photo.
(The car's in so tight they can't get out the doors).

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
I have friends in Plymouth, they thought that it was going to stay quiet in the south west now they tell me it has suddenly gone mad, you don't have to travel far before you get stuck behind a caravan panicking in a country lane with high hedges.
We passed through Bourton on the Water a week ago, not been there for 15 years when we felt like we had it to ourselves almost - this time it was crazy:
Friend of mine brought a caravan, dealer said the manufactures can't make them quick enough, - he's sold more in the last 6 months than he usually sells in so many years
