In the nicest way I don’t think anyone really cares what you did it in but what would be a cool post is your ‘winning streaks’ as in how many days you have got it right and also shows the breakdown of what you got it in if that makes sense.
Maybe make it a monthly post showing how the last 30 days went!

An interesting strategy ... safe but could have been one less ...

I found four possible solutions and then picked a word that contained three of the possible consonants.

I usually do this, haven't failed one yet. Others may argue this is the boring way to do it !

No it's solving a problem with method and logic.
What most others are doing is just throwing guesses at it, hoping something will stick. If you think that's how problems are solved in the real world, I have a bridge you should have a look at.

If the recent trend goes on, I might consider changing my usual three-vowel starter word - I think finding and eliminating consonants would have worked better this week.
Puzzles are arbitrary. If you choose the easier rule set that’s up to you.
Should have used the Raffe cheat method.

Off back of comments yesterday I got excited and thought let me guess it at line 4- although there were multiple combinations... Went back to usual at line 5 to eliminate, to ensure I got it right on line 6...will stick to the calculated method going forward as that is best chance to actually get it right !

Hard mode will always require more attempts. You may be lucky every now and then, but in the long run you will need more guesses. That's why it's the hard mode, should be quite evident.

Four goes, only took three minutes though.
Sorry, but it is not evident to me. After 18 days, I have 2 in 2, 7 in 3, 5 in 4 and 4 in 5, all in hard mode. I don’t think I could have bettered the 7 in 3 otherwise.
Try applying some logic and you will see the light.

It's not about seeing the light it's about accepting an alternative challenge ... clearly if you can eliminate letters by using a word which doesn't feature already indicated letters you will get the solution more easily; but that isn't the point of hard mode.
Pick the challenge that suits.

I only challenged Tatters on his statement that the hard mode would lead to an improved average.
In the end, it's like comparing football to handball. You cannot, as they are different games, both played with the intention to score goals with a ball. One is not easier or more difficult than the other, they both have their own challenges and some people prefer one and some the other.

Yes, that is exactly what I said: hard mode will require more attempts because you cannot work on exclusions in a methodical way.
