Afternoon TZ,
Planning a trip over to NYC from London and the choices are between JetBlue and BA for direct flights. All the American Airlines flights appear to be operated by BA on the dates we're looking at.
BA I'd heard were resting on their laurels rather, with old planes, poor service etc.
Anyone with experiences with JetBlue for that flight?

A definite vote for JetBlue. Best standard economy experience on any U.K. to US route that I’ve ever been on. Great leg room, new planes, good food options, free quality blankets etc.
After BA/AA flights I have back and leg pain for several days, never again.
JetBlue pricing is also very competitive at the moment.

Thank you both - that's sounding and looking very positive indeed for JetBlue in cattle class + baggage.
Also, they're not messing around with charging you for seat selection, unlike BA which was charging upwards of 30 for every single seat and journey (British RyanAirways).

Every fare I select bears no resemblance to the flights then offered or the overall summary. I select a £330 fare but that never appears, the cheapest it offers is £516.
I'm instantly put off using them. I went with Virgin recently and it was so simple to book.

Possibly. In which case it's misleading.
I found the website before much clearer and less deceiving than others', but they may have changed tactics!
What's under the downward arrow on the far right next to each fare?
The strange thing is even on their blue basic overview tab on the far left, they say the prices are 'from £516', so that £330 one seems out of place as you'd think the blue basic overview tab would say 'from £330'.

My thoughts exactly. The downward arrow simply opens a pane telling you what's included in the flight deal.
It's fine, I'll stick to what I trust.
I believe it is similar to most airline websites nowadays, on the left and right it states "Blue Basic from £516", at the very top centre of the screen it states "Select you departing flight" and just below that it states "Sat Mar 11 £330" - which is the departing flight price.
If you click on the down arrow on the right, it should show you the breakdown price of the cheapest departing and returning flight price (presumably £330 + £186 = £516) and the flight times, obviously the price can go higher if you choose a more popular/expensive flight time.
