Best wishes for a good result Eddie.

If it's any consolation, my best friend had a similar diagnosis, with a not good prognosis. He is still here and thriving 4 years and 2 months later

Wishing you all the best and f**k cancer of all kinds as they say. I've a few friends who have survived way beyond prognoses so there's plenty of good outcomes being achieved

That's pretty crap news. Hoping for the very best possible outcome for you!

However, I think we all know that you're a pretty pragmatic chap and I can imagine that the response to the news went something like..

    "No"
    Eddie

I'd like to echo the sentiments already expressed and send you my best wishes in this most trying time.

  14. #164
    Best wishes Eddie.

Having witnessed this first hand, stay positive.

Really crap news. I thought though this post needed echoing.

    All the best.

Even though not curable, I do see that stage 3 prostate cancer has an excellent prognosis. My dad has it and just lives with it. He has been living with it for years and years and they have told him that old age is likely to get him first.

    All my best.

Eddie, I am so sorry to learn about your condition...anxious to learn more as it becomes available.

For what it's worth, I developed prostate cancer a few years ago, and had a biopsy that confirmed Stage 3a on one side of the organ. I chose immediate removal as they were quite sure the cancer had not metastasized. They performed the radical prostatectomy where the surgeon operated a robot laparoscopically from a station about ten feet away. Fortunately, they were able to remove it all successfully, although the tumor had advanced to Stage 3b in the two weeks since my biopsy.

Every case is different but I had my prostate removed 10 years ago, had a secondary in a lymph node 7 years ago which was dealt with by 2 years of hormone injections and 36 radiotherapy sessions.

Changed lifestyle, retired from work, adjusted diet and 10 years post op I'm doing well and enjoying life

    Wish you all the best

Goodness me Eddie, wishing you all the very best for the 19th. Don't even think about this place/Timefactors if it's not what you want to do - or do if it is. I don't think anyone would begrudge you if it's the former. You got this.

That's terrible news, but I'm sure that you will be able to find access to the new drugs that really do make a difference - apparently it's only really been rolled out for prostate cancer since April, but if it fits your cancer, you should get it.

Whatever happens, the best of luck to you Eddie.
