My Church fawsley ,from 1983
Today being a non-day Sunday I was tidying shoe shelf.
When I came across my old Joseph Cheaney Avon’s from 1989 that are still used regularly it got me thinking about who has old, still used regularly, shoes.
I also still have a pair of Loakes 747 last (bulled up) parade shoes with ¼ heel steel tips - Google it if you don’t know what that means - from mid 1981. But they are seldom, if ever, worn these days.
Anyone want to add and contribute?
Jim

Those have been run through the mill!
I rarely wear these jungle boots any more, but I've had them since new in early 1967:
Now we miss Henk.
No photos as I've forgotten how to post them, but I have a pair of Tricker boots, given to me by the future Mrs grey as a 21st birthday present in 1965. One reason I keep them is that they were probably made from the skin of some endangered or now extinct species, and they might be the only remaining evidence of its existence. I also have a pair of Lotus Veldtschoen from 1967, when Lotus were still considered a brand worth mentioning, by Ian Fleming in his James Bond books.
My oldest pair of shoes are also veldtschoen - made by Technics, if I'm not mistaken. Bought in the officer's shop in Blackdown Barracks in 1986.
They're due a refurb for the winter.
I have a recollection that the Lotus factory was in Stafford rather than Northampton - or did they have more than one?
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
Lotus shoes were a quality brand back in the day.
I have an old pair of K shoes which my later father owned and sadly never got round to wearing.
