My experience of Clarks recently is that they are taking much more care to look the part than to actually function (like many other shoemakers). See for example the false welts to look like a goodyear welted boot. My last pair of clarks boots let water through quite quickly on a wet day and the ingenious idea of leaving the soft foam (think camping mat) exposed in the centre part of the sole with harder rubber around the outside meant this wore uncomfortably thin rapidly.Originally Posted by Alansmithee
