Thread: Doxa itch finally scratched

  1. #1

    Doxa itch finally scratched

Never really liked the look of these, a bit quirky, but gradually the need to own one became too strong and I took delivery of this beauty earlier in the week.

Haven't dived in it yet, but will be putting that right on Boxing Day. First impressions:

    Like
Case fits really nicely on the wrist
Bracelet is very flexible and the clasp is solid
Has a fair heft to it although doesn't feel unbalanced on the wrist
Bezel is easily turned (tested with 5mm neoprene gloves)
Legibility of hands against the dial is outstanding

    Jury still out on
Markings on the bezel not the easiest to read, nowhere near as easy as say a sub. Will be interesting to test is murky viz
It's the first non-silver or black dial that I've owned and it's definitely different (not in a bad way)

Will try and post some photos of it in action after Christmas.

Great choice - love my 750 Pro.
Have to admit though that I've only dived mine at Nemo33 in Belgium.
Normally wear my Orsa on a long NATO over my drysuit when diving.

I haven't caught the Doxa bug yet, despite my mate Simona's propaganda :D, but I am slowly warming to them :)

If only these things came with a bezel in meters and not feet I would probably have several, really nice looking pieces otherwise.

You haven't been around here long enough to realise the humour in that image. Newbies. Always shooting from the hip and missing wildly.

I have though and it does wear a bit thin after a few dozen times of the same old joke-like the Rolex and cyclops thing

I agree, I have seen that picture far too many times now. Its also rather irrelevant, the 750GMT I had was a much better made watch then the Sinn EZM3 I had. I miss the Doxa and would happily buy another one (preferably secondhand though).

The only people who have cause to complain about the inference in the image are those less secure in their confidence about Doxa's manufacturing. If you're quite secure in your beliefs then you should be saying nothing at all or having a laugh.

    Disagree.

It's one thing to post those funny pics on a general discussion about Doxa, but doing so on someone's new watch thread is not cool :?

Bollocks. They shouldn't be so sensitive. Cool or not. Sensitivity is they key point here.

Sensitivity my ar&e! get some new material that is actually funny and I for one will laugh all night long, using a second hand joke in this fashion is not only lame but a bit crass IMO.

Respect is the key point here. Anyway, it's pointless arguing, you're the lawyer so you know-it-all :P

No need for new material. You simply have no sense of humour. It's OK. Some of us forgive you. Not me, as only PC twats would forgive you.

You don't even know me so how you can say I've no sense of humour is beyond me  ; I just hope you're a decent enough lawyer so we don't have to worry about you starving this Christmas, as your hash up of old material might be a sign that stand up is not your area of expertise. And as for implying that I'm pc ; well, that is way off the mark

ps. and by the way, swearing in an open forum is also not very clever chap; some members have young ones that read these threads you know, or don't you care about that either? As someone pointed out earlier, it's about respect.

You really think that 'twat' is swearing? Like I said, no sense of hunour. You really need to be here for a few more years here before mouthing off like a puritan. (Then we can all laugh at you.)

Gosh, that really does look nice. Always felt that that Doxa dials looked a bit on the small size but that one certainly doesn't. Enjoy.
